About me

Hi! I'm Kat, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I work with adults, couples, and teens who are dealing with anxiety, stress, relationship problems, and the pressures of daily life. I believe therapy can be a place to slow down and better understand what's behind the challenges you're facing. My journey in mental health began working with people in crisis. Since then, I have worked in many different settings, including doctor's offices, intensive group programs, and private practice. These experiences taught me that mental health is about the whole person, body, spirit, and the people around you. Over the years, I have gotten really good at helping people who are dealing with grief, depression, anxiety, and addiction. My approach is warm, gentle, and free of judgment. I want you to feel safe being yourself and talking openly about hard feelings, past experiences, or patterns in your relationships. I believe real change comes from both understanding yourself and feeling supported. I work together with my clients to help them communicate better and take better care of themselves. Sometimes my job as a therapist is to challenge old beliefs that are holding you back. Therapy can bring comfort, but it can also help you face hard feelings and learn how to work through them. Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we'll spend time getting to know each other and talking about what brought you to therapy. I'll ask questions about different parts of your life, like your relationships, stress, emotions, and strengths. This helps me understand how I can best support you. I know that starting therapy can feel uncomfortable. My goal is to create a welcoming space where you feel heard and respected. You can always ask questions, and we'll go at a pace that feels right for you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my biggest strengths as a therapist is creating a calm, caring space where clients feel comfortable opening up. I've worked in outpatient, hospice and crisis settings, and that experience taught me how stress, trauma, and life events can affect people in very different ways. I care about building real connections with my clients. I want to help them understand themselves better and learn practical tools they can use in everyday life. I meet each person where they are and support them in making real, lasting change.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I really enjoy working with clients of many backgrounds and experiences, including those who are experiencing: relationship challenges and conflict, grief and loss, trouble with mood and coping, anxiety and stress. Those who are looking to improve emotional awareness, communication and finding strategies to have inner calm. If you are are looking to improve your insight, coping, and mood I can help you in these areas.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help look at your thoughts, feelings and behaviors and how to help you improve mood, anxiety and outlook. This approach helps break down goals so that they are manageable and effective.

Trauma Informed Care

I understand how trauma can impact your whole worldview, and work to help you heal. With trauma-informed care, the trick is taking things slowly so that it doesn't feel overwhelming.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I incorporate mindfulness and body-centered practices to help with building skills for relaxation, coping and presents.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I believe people inherently have the ability to grow, change and find meaning in their lives even when there are challenges and struggles.

Gottman method

I use the the Gottman Method to help couples and individuals improve communication and understanding in their relationships. The Gottman Method helps couple's have healthier communication and strengthen connection.
