New to Grow
My name is Kat, I’m a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in Florida with a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of South Florida, Tampa. My approach is warm, gentle and collaborative. I like to provide a non-judgmental space where you can talk about anything and help you navigate the waves of life. I specialize in well-established, successful and proven approaches which can help cope with stress and anxiety, interpersonal difficulties, and build healthier relationships. I work with a total range of clients from adolescents to seniors and I tailor treatment to each and every individual client.
For my first session, I will get to know you through a bio-psycho-social lens, which means seeing how your physical, mental and emotional health are doing, as well as looking at your relationships. It can really take a few sessions to get to know each other! You are welcome to ask me questions and get to know me as well.
Since 2013 I’ve built my career from the ground up. I began a caregiver for older adults, then I served in a mental health crisis unit, and then getting my Masters in Social Work. Now I provide counseling in private practice. My diverse experience has given me strong skills in my field and a practical understanding of what helps people cope and change.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help look at your thoughts, feelings and behaviors and how to help you improve mood, anxiety and outlook.
Trauma Informed Care
I understand how trauma can impact your whole worldview, and work to help you heal.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I incorporate mindfulness and body-centered practices to help with building skills for relaxation, coping and presents.
Strength-Based
I look at strengths to see what is going well, and how you have worked through problems in the past.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I believe people inherently have the ability to grow, change and find meaning in their lives even when there are challenges and struggles.
