Robert Culp
I’m a licensed psychologist and founder of Empathic Pathways. My approach to therapy is deeply person-centered, grounded in the belief that meaningful growth happens when people feel genuinely heard, understood, and accepted. I bring warmth, authenticity, curiosity, and a down-to-earth style to my work.
I believe in trusting clients to find their own direction while providing a genuine, accepting relationship where meaningful growth can occur.
Rather than telling you how to live your life, I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where we can explore your experiences together, make sense of life's challenges, and help you move forward in ways that feel meaningful to you.
First session
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. I'll invite you to share what brings you to therapy, but there's no pressure to tell your entire story or have everything figured out. My hope is that you leave feeling heard, understood, and comfortable being yourself. Whether we're meeting individually, as a couple, or as a family, my approach centers on creating a genuine, accepting environment where everyone's experiences matter and we can begin exploring what feels most important to you.
Strengths
I bring warmth, authenticity, curiosity, and years of clinical experience. I'm more inclined to listen deeply than offer unsolicited advice. I believe in trusting clients to find their own direction while providing a genuine, accepting relationship where meaningful growth can occur.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is someone who wants to feel genuinely heard, understood, and accepted without judgment. I work well with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, or simply trying to better understand themselves. You don't need to have everything figured out or even know exactly what you want from therapy. I value working with people who are open to exploring their experiences at their own pace, discovering greater self-understanding, and finding their own path toward meaningful change.
Treatment methods
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I practice person-centered therapy, which means I believe you are the expert on your own life. Rather than directing our conversations, offering unsolicited advice, or telling you what you should do, I focus on genuinely understanding your experiences. Through empathy, authenticity, and unconditional acceptance, I strive to create an environment where you feel safe exploring your thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. I believe that when people experience this kind of therapeutic relationship, they naturally begin to develop greater self-understanding, self-acceptance, and confidence in their ability to navigate life's challenges. My role is to accompany and support you in that process, trusting your capacity for growth and meaningful change.
