Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Florida. I received my Masters from the Barry University and have been practicing for over 13 years in mental health, substance abuse, nephrology, and hospice. I help individuals who are struggling with life challenges that have led to feelings of emptiness, unfulfilled, loss of purpose, overwhelmingly tired, with no sense of direction. Those individuals typically feel stuck with current life stressors and lose hope for a better future. Together we work to bring about new perspectives on life and create balance for a healthier mind & a healthier living.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions as well as begin building rapport with one another. We will then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. I’ll also get a little bit of history and background concerning you. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
Having worked with individuals and families from as young as 3 years old to as old as 65 years old, my experience has given me a broader view of the challenges people face in everyday life throughout every stages in their lives. It has allowed me to build quite a few skill sets where I can tailor to each individual based on their situation. Also given that the therapeutic relationship is a significant factor in the effectiveness of therapy, I always strive to make my clients feel safe, allow them to be their authentic selves, reassure them of judgement-free zone, and allow them to feel my humanness.
I enjoy working with young adults or millennials who are new to therapy and also those who at one point lost hope in the mental health therapy world due to past experiences. My clients are those who are feeling mentally and emotionally stuck and need some guidance, clarity, reassurance, and support.
I help clients recognize automatic negative thoughts that contribute to emotional distress. I challenge their belief by examining past experiences and alternative perspectives. Clients then learn to question and evaluate their thinking patterns, replacing the negative thought with a more balanced one.
I use this method for clients who are looking for practical, short-term solutions to specific issues. By emphasizing strengths, exceptions, and future solutions, I will help clients take actionable steps toward their goals while building self-efficacy and optimism for change.
With this method I help clients build emotional resilience by fostering awareness, acceptance, and non-reactivity toward their thoughts and emotions. I encourage individuals to be present and engage with their experiences in a more balanced and compassionate way, which can reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and improve overall well-being.
