Marisa Soria
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of experience helping adults, adolescents and families navigate life's most difficult challenges. I specialize in working with individuals who have experienced trauma, emotional and behavioral difficulties, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and attachment disruptions. My approach is trauma-informed, strength-based, and collaborative. I integrate evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and Solution-focused therapy, to help clients develop practical coping skills, improve emotional regulation, strengthen relationships, and build resilience. My goal is to create a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. Healing begins with hope, and I am honored to be part of that journey.
First session
Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can share your story at your own pace. Together, we'll explore what has brought you to therapy, what you hope to gain from our work together, and the emotional, personal, or relational goals you would like to accomplish. I'll ask thoughtful, gentle questions to better understand your experiences, current challenges, strengths, and the support systems that have helped you along the way. This conversation also helps me tailor treatment to your unique needs and values. I believe that healing is a journey, and you don't have to walk it alone. My hope is to partner with you every step of the way—helping you build on your strengths, navigate life's challenges, and move toward greater healing, resilience, and overall wellness. I'm honored to be part of your journey and look forward to working together.
Strengths
What sets me apart as a therapist is my ability to create a safe, supportive space where you can feel seen, heard, and understood. I believe healing happens through connection, and my goal is to walk alongside you throughout your journey—not to tell you what to do, but to support, encourage, and empower you as you discover your own strengths. You are the expert on your life, and I am honored to be part of your care team as we work together toward healing and wellness.
Ideal clients
I work best with individuals who are ready to explore their experiences with curiosity and openness, even if they don't have all the answers yet. You may be feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, anxious, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. Perhaps you're healing from trauma, navigating a major life transition, struggling with relationships, or simply looking for a safe place to better understand yourself. You don't have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. All I ask is that you come as you are, with a willingness to engage in the process. Together, we'll build on your strengths, develop practical coping skills, and work toward creating meaningful and lasting change.
Treatment methods
Solution-Focused Brief Treatment
I use a solution-focused approach to help clients identify their strengths, build on what is already working, and create realistic goals that align with their values. Rather than focusing solely on problems, we work together to recognize past successes and develop practical strategies for overcoming current challenges. I believe that every client has unique strengths and resilience that can serve as the foundation for meaningful change. My role is to help you discover your own solutions, build confidence, and take manageable steps toward lasting healing and wellness.
