Shevan Wilks
Hi, I’m Shevan, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) dedicated to helping individuals navigate mental health challenges with compassion and evidence-based care. I provide both medication management and supportive therapy for adolescents and adults dealing with conditions such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and mood disorders.
I often integrate medication management with therapeutic strategies like CBT and mindfulness to help clients gain insight, build resilience, and see lasting results.
My approach is collaborative, personalized, and rooted in creating a safe space for growth and healing.
First session
In our first session, we'll take time to get to know each other and explore what brings you in. I'll ask questions about your current concerns, mental health history, lifestyle, and goals so we can build a comprehensive understanding of your needs. This session is also a space for you to ask questions and share at your own pace. Together, we'll start forming a personalized treatment plan that may include therapy, medication, or a combination of both—based on what feels right for you.
Strengths
What sets my approach apart is my ability to blend empathy with evidence-based care. I prioritize creating a nonjudgmental, supportive space where clients feel truly heard. My strengths include thorough clinical assessment, clear communication, and tailoring treatment plans to each individual’s needs. I often integrate medication management with therapeutic strategies like CBT and mindfulness to help clients gain insight, build resilience, and see lasting results.
Ideal clients
I work best with individuals who are motivated to better understand themselves and are open to exploring both medication and therapeutic strategies for healing. I especially enjoy working with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, and life transitions. Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply ready for change, I’m here to support you with a balanced, compassionate, and goal-oriented approach.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have experience utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help patients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and modify behaviors that contribute to emotional distress. In my practice, I incorporate CBT techniques such as cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, and exposure-based strategies to treat conditions like anxiety, depression, and ADHD. I tailor the approach to each individual’s needs, often integrating CBT with medication management when appropriate, to support symptom reduction and long-term resilience.
