Hello! my name is Kadija Conteh-Barrat, I am the practice owner of Barrat Behavioral Health & Consulting (BBHC). I am a dual-licensed NP with a doctorate degree in nursing (DNP). I am a board-certified family nurse practitioner (FNP) and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP). I have over 8 years of experience in a variety of areas including primary care and diverse psychiatric and mental health care including mood disorders, depressive disorders, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, substance use disorders, grief, and adjustment disorders. I help individuals struggling with mental health become the best version of themselves. My aim is to cultivate a therapeutic relationship you can trust. This aim comes from a place of genuine interest to understand your true self, what you are looking for, and how to work together.
As a board-certified PMHNP, Kadija believes in using a holistic, biopsychosocial, and collaborative approach to meet the behavioral health needs of her clients. In your first session, we'll explore reasons for seeking care and then decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress. We'll look at how your thoughts affect your emotions and experience. During treatment, we'll help you learn how to push back against those thoughts to change your feelings for the better.
Having worked with people of all ages who seek help with diverse psychiatric problems, I have developed a tried-and true playbook for helping you identify the root cause of your challenges and create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress.
Through many years of experience, I have been able to partner with people of all ages who seek help with diverse psychiatric problems.
Kadija Conteh-Barrat offers therapy covered by UnitedHealthcare/Optum - Medicaid in Virginia.
