New to Grow
Welcome, and thank you for stopping by! My name is Angela Conner, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years of mental health experience working with children, adolescents, families, and adults within the home, school, outpatient, partial hospitalization, foster care, and residential settings. My clients suffer with depression- sadness, hopelessness, low motivation, poor appetite, sleep, and concentration and/or anxiety- feeling tense, nervous, unable to relax, trouble concentrating or making decisions. Their goal is to decrease these symptoms and create a positive and purposeful relationship within themselves. I have worked with a variety of populations and specialize in depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, and concerns with familial and interpersonal relationships. Within therapy, I hope to instill a purposeful and person-centered approach through initial rapport building, where we create a safe space for you to build trust and share your story. Let's connect and work at your pace, creating and achieving your goals. My hope is to leave you feeling empowered with a strong sense of hope and confidence as you continue to grow and navigate through life's daily challenges. Let's bring about your true self and lay a foundation for True Beginnings! Looking forward to hearing from you soon!
Starting your day feels like a complete headache and stomachache where all you can think about is the rollercoaster ride of the day you are forced to ride and how you are going to make it through the next 8-10 daunting hours of the day. You are constantly worrying about the “what if’s” or for the next problem to come your way and send you into a downward spiral of heavy emotions and thoughts like, “Why me?!, I can’t do this anymore”. Feeling on edge and emotionally uneasy is the norm for you, and its becoming too much. Feeling in control, confident, and at peace feels like a dream so far away, but that’s your goal. You want to not wake up and not feel your heart or thoughts racing leading to a negative head space. You want to feel in control on you….in positive spirits and ready to conquer the day ahead, taking one day at a time. Not only will you have an emotional release and have a safe space to feel heard; understood, but you will also gain some serious tools to help you gain control of the ride and manage those heavy emotions in the worst moments. During our virtual time together, we will get to know one another and accomplish quite a bit as it relates to your “aches”, and will be tailored to what you individually need. This will lead to a realization that you had it in you all along and are ready to dive into your true self; being authentically YOU, a true beginning to conquering life.
I am a professional who focuses on their therapy goals, which can look like focusing on their emotions, digging into their past, challenging their thought processes, and providing a space for them to cry it out. While in the midst of this, I normalize this process, bringing comfort into the space with humor, corkiness, and just being my authentic self.....Life is life. And through all of this, I have a very grounded presence about me, which brings a sense of calmness and empathy to all situations.
My ideal client is a 30-year-old client who is ready to dig in, learn, and connect with themselves and others, and ultimately grow. It is the female client who is working and finding her way, has hobbies, and some connections with peers and family. She may have a troubling past or be struggling with current adult circumstances.... they feel they are never going to be enough, and they are never going to get out of this cycle. This is leading her to want to find herself, increase her self-esteem, self-worth, better her relationships, increase her emotional capacity, and dive into HER- HAPPY, EMPOWERED, AND READY to conquer the world and capitalize on opportunity.
