LCSW, 8 years of experience
I'm Marisa, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (115264) who received my Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California, specializing in children, youth, and families. I have expertise in working with individual adults specializing in Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, Transitions, Relationship Issues, and Self Esteem. I utilize collaborative treatment approaches based on your individual needs because I feel that every person is unique with a different story. I strive to help you feel empowered and to develop a stronger relationship with yourself. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, traveling, spending quality time with family and friends, and anything related to the arts.
During our first session, I'll ask you some questions to understand your background and what brought you to therapy. My goal is to create a safe space where you feel comfortable sharing your story and where we can begin building rapport. Towards the end of the session, we'll also take time to discuss any questions you might have and determine if we are a good fit for working together.
I incorporate a range of therapeutic practices that focus on your unique strengths and goals. My approach is Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy.
If you are going through a life change/stressor, or want to understand more about your thoughts, emotions, and experiences that cause anxiety, depression, and self-doubt, I can help you to navigate this stage in your life. Whether you are dealing with relationship issues, moving, job stress, coping with loss, and more, I am here to guide and support you in your journey toward healing.
I work with clients who are struggling with negative self-talk and looking to build a stronger sense of self-worth.
