Hi! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Virginia. I obtained my undergraduate degree in Psychology/Cognitive Neuroscience from Temple University and my graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Old Dominion University. I treat young adults struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem and life changes using a person-centered, strengths-based approach to counseling.
In our first session, we will focus on building rapport and establishing a strong therapeutic relationship. We will complete a mental health intake assessment which will help me understand more about you and what you want to accomplish from being in therapy.
As a therapist, I have worked to provide a safe, validating and encouraging space for ALL individuals to be able to share and grow. My experience has been in working in crisis situations, which has provided me with the training and education to help those experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns.
I love working with young adults who are experiencing a variety of life changes such as starting college or a new career. My clients often express a desire to learn skills to help them manage daily stressors as well as want a space to speak freely while feeling validated and supported.
Amanda Bartolome offers therapy covered by Kaiser Permanente - Medicaid and UnitedHealthcare/Optum - Medicaid in Virginia.
I use primarily a person-centered approach to therapy while also incorporating cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapy skills and techniques.
I am trained and certified in using mindfulness-based stress reduction techniques with patients presenting with a variety of mental health concerns including anxiety and depression.
