Jennifer D. Jones
Hi, I am Jennifer and a licensed therapist, a LCSW based in California. Whether you're facing loss, mourning, transitions, or relationship struggles, I’m here to support you. If you're dealing with ADHD, we can work together on managing disorganization, chaos, time and task management, and the feelings of overwhelm or shame that often accompany it. For those experiencing anxiety, I will help you address worries, procrastination, overthinking, panic, and overwhelm. If you're living with depression, bipolar depression, or mood disorders, we will explore the sadness, fatigue, and negative thoughts that impact your well-being. Through life’s challenges, I am here to walk with you, using a compassionate and tailored approach to guide you toward healing, clarity, and growth in your own personal journey.
First session
In our first session, we'll take time to get to know each other as I conduct a thorough intake to understand your concerns. I'll share some insights into my approach, but as we work together, you'll experience how our sessions unfold based on your unique needs. Whether you're navigating ADHD, anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, career challenges, or life transitions, I'm here to support you every step of the way. Together, we'll explore your experiences, uncover your strengths, and build a personalized plan for meaningful progress. My approach is compassionate, grounded in understanding, and focused on helping you find the clarity and peace you deserve. I’m excited to walk this journey with you.
Strengths
Through conversations we craft change together, bit by bit. I walk alongside you in your individual unique personal journey as you navigate life. I will tell you the truth, I am transparent and honest. I am interactive and will role up my sleeves together whether we are finding solutions or navigating difficulties. I am on your side. When you're ready to leave behind the stress and discomfort you're feeling, I'm here to guide you. Let's schedule our first session and start your journey toward feeling better today.
Ideal clients
I embrace several aspects of life. I love to work with individuals ages 20 to 64—many of whom are future, current, or former professionals navigating the complexities of work, school, relationships, or personal growth. Whether you're stepping into adulthood, building your career, embracing change, or gracefully transitioning into new life stages, you may find yourself feeling overwhelmed. Coping with ADHD, anxiety, depression, or the intersections of these challenges can add another layer of stress, even as you strive for the best life possible.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
For over three years, I have helped individuals recognize their automatic thoughts and behaviors. I work with clients to identify triggers, thought patterns, actions, and habits, guiding them in making meaningful changes to improve their lives.
Compassion-Focused
I help you cultivate compassion for yourself and others, guiding you to gently step back, untangle, and unwind harsh thoughts towards yourself and those around you. As a result, you have a kinder, gentler and thus, a saner relationship with yourself.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Through Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, I guide you to connect with the different parts of yourself—each with its own voice, desires, and needs. I help you identify and understand different aspects or parts of yourself, transforming you to have a healthier relationship with your inner self, which in turn positively impacts your external life. By nurturing a compassionate relationship with these parts, you can better understand and heal from past wounds, creating a sense of inner harmony. Together, we explore these parts with kindness and curiosity, allowing you to reclaim your personal power, heal emotional wounds, and live with a renewed sense of clarity and purpose. IFS offers a profound path to healing, helping you cultivate self-awareness and compassion, leading to deeper connection and growth.
Solution-Focused Brief Treatment
In our sessions, when I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), it is to help you focus on your strengths, resources, and past successes. Together, we’ll explore what’s already working well in your life and how we can build on those things to create positive change. My goal is to support you in finding practical solutions and help you feel empowered to take the next steps toward your desired outcomes, all while celebrating your progress along the way.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
In our work with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), I’ll help you accept difficult emotions and thoughts without letting them control your actions. Together, we’ll identify your core values and take meaningful steps toward living in alignment with them. Rather than avoiding discomfort, I’ll support you in being present with it, so you can move forward with purpose and authenticity, creating a fulfilling life free from struggle and self-doubt.
