Hi! I'm a Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner licensed in North Carolina, Virginia and Washington. I received my Masters from Eastern Kentucky University in 2020 in addition to completing a residency with the Duke School of Nursing. I have been practicing for 5 years and I provide medication management to adults ages 18 to 64 to help with symptoms associated with anxiety, depression, affective disorders, insomnia, adhd and substance use disorders.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, we'll start with an initial assessment that will include questions that may address all facets of life from childhood to your now adult life. After discovery of symptoms we will work together to create a treatment plan that may include medication management to best address your mood. You may be referred to a therapist to assist in this journey.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Having worked with patients for the past 5 years, I've developed a strong sense and meaning of the importance of listening to patients and meeting them where they are. Whether they are dealing with a new adjustment, having a hard time coping with symptoms, or battling addiction, I will take my time and listen to your needs while providing evidence-based care.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with patients who are either new or seasoned in mental health. My patients may experience symptoms related to anxiety, depression, insomnia, or substance use. They are interested in exploring options to address their symptoms from a Provider who is not judgmental and willing to listen to their needs.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been using brief CBT in practice for the past five years, which has been an added bonus along with medication management to assist in addressing a patient's mood. During our session I will incorporate CBT by asking targeted questions to identify negative thought patterns and suggesting simple coping mechanisms.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivation interviewing has been one of the modalities that has helped patients conquer challenges they may be facing. I assist patients with exploring their personal reasons for wanting to make changes, like improving their quality of life or managing chronic conditions.
