Thank you for considering therapy with me. I'm Anna Marie Bunch, a licensed therapist dedicated to supporting you on your journey to healing and self-discovery. Below is more about my background, education, experience, and therapeutic approach. I am licensed in Kentucky, with over 11 years of professional experience. My journey began in a men's residential recovery program, where I gained invaluable insights into life and healing. For nearly a decade, I have worked as a private practice clinician in various settings, including K-12 schools, offices, and via telehealth. Additionally, I am an entrepreneur, having founded a nonprofit in 2016 aimed at reducing therapy barriers. I hold a Master's of Education in Human Services and Counseling, graduated with honors. As a lifelong learner, I have also taught as an Adjunct Professor for around 8 years in Addictions and Human Services. When you work with me, you can expect unconditional love, support, and understanding. I provide constructive feedback to help you identify cognitive distortions, irrational beliefs, and unhealthy behavior patterns in a supportive, non-threatening way. Often, clients find their own answers through a safe space to process their thoughts and emotions. We will likely begin by increasing the love you have for yourself, as self-love, advocacy, and respect are crucial for facilitating change. I have extensive experience helping clients with various issues and believe in your strengths to overcome challenges. My approach is grounded in person-centered therapy, complemented by evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I am also certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), an effective tool for treating past trauma and future-based fears. I am proud of you for taking this step and am here to listen, support, and understand you, no matter your circumstances.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

At your first session with me, we will start by reviewing the informed consent, ensuring you understand your rights and the therapeutic process. This will include discussing confidentiality, the therapeutic approach, and any questions you might have. Following this, we will conduct an intake assessment where I will gather information about your background, current concerns, and goals for therapy. This initial session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, establish a foundation for our work together, and begin creating a tailored plan to support your journey towards healing and growth.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

One of my greatest strengths as a provider is my ability to meet you exactly where you are, offering understanding and a judgment-free space. I am dedicated to giving my best to you, creating a supportive environment tailored to your unique journey and needs. I believe in allowing you to grow in ways that feel authentic to you. Taking the first step toward a more fulfilling and happier life is incredibly courageous, and I am here to support and guide you every step of the way.

My treatment methods

Narrative

In my practice, I use narrative therapy to help clients explore and reshape the stories they tell about themselves and their lives. By identifying and examining these narratives, we can uncover hidden strengths and reframe negative beliefs. This process empowers clients to create new, more empowering stories that reflect their true potential and promote positive change.

Mind-body approach

In my practice, I use mind-body therapy to help clients achieve holistic well-being by addressing the interconnectedness of the mind and body. Techniques such as mindfulness, meditation, and deep-breathing exercises are integrated to reduce stress, enhance self-awareness, and promote physical relaxation. This approach supports clients in developing a deeper connection with their bodies, fostering healing, and enhancing overall mental and physical health.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have extensive experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients address and transform unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. In my practice, I use CBT techniques to collaboratively set clear, achievable goals with clients, guiding them in identifying negative thoughts and developing practical, healthier ways of thinking. I also incorporate behavioral strategies, like exposure and activity planning, to support clients in building resilience and actively working toward a more fulfilling life. This structured, results-driven approach has proven highly effective in managing symptoms of anxiety, depression, and trauma among my clients.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have significant experience utilizing Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to support clients in managing intense emotions and building healthier relationships. In my practice, I use DBT skills training to teach clients essential techniques in emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. By helping clients develop these practical skills, they become better equipped to handle difficult emotions, improve communication, and foster self-acceptance. This approach is especially effective for individuals dealing with mood disorders, trauma, and relationship challenges, allowing them to navigate life with greater balance and resilience.

Motivational Interviewing

I have extensive experience using Motivational Interviewing (MI) to empower clients in making meaningful changes aligned with their personal goals. In my practice, I use MI to create a collaborative, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their ambivalence, clarify their values, and build intrinsic motivation. By using open-ended questions, reflective listening, and supportive affirmations, I help clients identify their own reasons for change, fostering a sense of empowerment and self-efficacy. This approach is particularly effective for clients working through behavioral changes, addiction recovery, or lifestyle adjustments, as it strengthens their commitment to positive, lasting transformation.
