What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In their first therapy session with me, clients can expect a warm and welcoming environment where they feel safe and comfortable to share their experiences. I will begin by discussing the therapy process, explaining my approach, and the modalities I use, such as CBT and trauma-informed care. We'll take time to explore their concerns and goals, allowing them to express what brought them to therapy and what they hope to achieve. I’ll also gather information about their background, including any relevant experiences with trauma, anxiety, or other issues they wish to address. This session is about understanding their challenges, building rapport and trust, and ensuring they feel supported as we embark on this journey together. By the end of the session, clients can expect to leave with a clearer sense of direction and a plan for moving forward in our work together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am passionate about helping people heal from generational trauma and childhood trauma. Trauma affects every area of a person’s life. Being able to heal and become whole drastically changes how a person views themselves and the world around them. In addition, I help people accept situations they cannot change and find peace and calm within themselves.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

As a mental health therapist, I use CBT to help clients identify negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to their emotional distress. I guide them in challenging and reframing irrational beliefs by teaching them to recognize cognitive distortions. I also incorporate behavioral interventions, such as exposure to feared situations or scheduling positive activities, to break unhelpful cycles. Through homework assignments like journaling or thought records, clients would practice applying these skills daily. Regularly reviewing progress and reinforcing positive changes ensures continued growth and improvement.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

As a mental health therapist using Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), I focus on helping my clients identify their strengths and resources to create solutions for their current challenges. I guide them in setting clear, achievable goals by asking future-oriented questions like, “What will be different when this problem is solved?” Instead of exploring past issues in depth, I emphasize building on what’s already working in their lives. I use techniques like scaling questions to track progress and highlight small successes in sessions. By keeping the focus on solutions, I empower my clients to take actionable steps toward their desired outcomes quickly.

Trauma-Focused CBT

As a mental health therapist using Trauma-Informed CBT, I combine trauma sensitivity with cognitive-behavioral techniques to help clients process their experiences safely. I ensure that my clients feel secure and in control during therapy, recognizing the profound impact trauma has on their thoughts and emotions. I guide them in identifying and challenging negative beliefs shaped by trauma while also using gentle exposure techniques to help them process distressing memories at their own pace. By integrating coping skills and relaxation techniques, I help clients manage the emotional intensity of trauma work. Throughout the process, I emphasize safety, collaboration, and empowerment, helping clients rebuild a sense of trust and resilience.

Christian Counseling

As a mental health therapist using Christian counseling, I integrate biblical principles with therapeutic techniques to address emotional and spiritual challenges. I guide my clients to explore their faith as a source of healing, encouraging prayer, scripture reflection, and reliance on God’s wisdom in their journey. I help them apply Christian values to navigate issues such as forgiveness, purpose, and relationships, fostering growth in both faith and mental health. By aligning therapeutic goals with their spiritual beliefs, I support clients in developing a deeper connection with God while addressing emotional struggles. My approach emphasizes the power of faith in fostering resilience, hope, and wholeness.
