*Supporting Clients Ages 18+ in California* Sometimes we get “stuck”, whether it is in our work and/or personal lives, and we don’t know how we got there and what to do next. Years or months pass and we may also have lost a sense of who we are and want to find it again. Or maybe, we never felt comfortable to be our authentic selves and live life the way we wanted to due to painful past and current life experiences and not having the resources and support we needed. The pandemic and the injustices and world issues since 2020 forced some of us to finally take the step to choose ourselves, choose a better life, and this decision can be very daunting to where we become frozen with little to no movement. If this resonates with you, I want to let you know that you are not alone. I am here with you. You deserve to get the right help. I particularly focus on healing survivors/victims of trauma including trauma from experiencing injustice. I also specialize in healing healers. By healers, I am including, not only healthcare workers or working professionals, but also the folks who choose to be and/or end up being the “leader”, “representative”, or “go to” person in their family, friendship, or community network. I also see clients who do not identify as healers and whose main concerns are not trauma-based.
First session
During the first session we will discuss how to safely share your personal information in therapy, further explore what you would like out of therapy, what steps you feel would help you get there, and any information you find helpful for me to know in order to best support you. I always tell clients that I do not need to know "all your secrets" and that is not needed as that is personal to you, but what I do need to know is enough information to best support you.
Strengths
I have extensive experience working with stigmatized populations and topics such as addiction, the Asian/Asian American or Pacific Islander, Southeast Asian community, 2SLGBTQIA+, and the mental health impact of racism and discrimination. Working in various mental health settings (e.g outpatient, inpatient, hotline, college, and integrated healthcare settings) and previously being a community organizer has further granted me the skills to adapt to the individualized needs of each client and provide quality therapeutic care.
Ideal clients
Adults (18 and up) I particularly focus on healing survivors/victims of trauma including trauma from experiencing injustice. I also specialize in healing healers. By healers, I am including, not only healthcare workers or working professionals, but also the folks who choose to be and/or end up being the “leader”, “representative”, or “go to” person in their family, friendship, or community network. I welcome clients who do not identify as healers and/or community organizers and clients of other mental health issues besides trauma/PTSD.
