Nice to meet you! My name is Chelsea and I have been a therapist for 7 years. After completing a bachelor's degree in psychology, I received my masters in social work and eventually became an LCSW. Through this education and my own healing journey, I have honed in on my skills to understand people deeply and provide a space that they can use to explore, process, heal and grow.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I like to think of first sessions as a fit check to make sure that we will have a positive therapeutic relationship and one that will support you with what you need. Typically, I like to get to know my clients deeply and follow your lead in regards to whatever you feel comfortable sharing. I will likely ask a lot of questions pertaining to your reasons for coming to therapy, what you're looking to get out of it, and your psychosocial history and current life.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am compassionate, empathetic, intuitive and want all of my clients to live their best lives. The biggest joy in my profession is seeing people heal and thrive. By being an active listener and following your lead, I hope to build strong therapeutic connections with my clients that allow them to grow.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Centrally important to therapy is the ability for a therapist to hold a safe, trusting space for a client and have the understanding that the client knows themselves and their needs best. Part of our work together is providing you with the support to process, analyze, make changes or all of the above. You will be the leader of your therapeutic journey and I will be honored to hold the container for that journey.

Trauma Informed Care

I work with the understanding that many "mental disorders" are symptoms of trauma. I have a deep reverence for everyone who has experienced trauma in their life and seeks support through it. No matter where you are on your healing journey, I would be privileged to be a part of it.

Mind-body approach

Through my education to become a trauma-informed yoga teacher, I realized just how interconnected our mind and body is. As a therapist, it has been important for me to call this to my clients' attention and support them in harnessing the power that the body has to shift the mind and vice versa.
