As a provide I have over 22 years of experience in the field of behavioral health. I have developed specialization in the areas of family and relational issues, mental health concerns, drug/alcohol and relational addiction, codependency, and addressing issues of loss, grief and trauma. I am able to support a client alongside of 12 step recovery. My goal is to meet you where you are, help you address your concerns and find and apply solutions and skills for your well-being.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In your first session we will discuss the therapeutic process, information for your mental health screening and explore what you would like to get out of therapy.

My greatest strengths as a provider include my own life journey of finding and applying solutions for healing and positive change. Equally my years of experience have added to my ability to give support, to validate a person's thoughts and feelings, to listen and provide a safe and caring space for my clients. Many hands on learning experiences have taught me profound skills and problem solving, things that I can share with others.

Life can present us with a variety of challenges. The struggle could be within you with low self-esteem, difficulty with self-care and healthy boundaries. You may need support and connection with others. Relationships in your life may be frustrating, your emotions difficult to deal with, and you may be looking for skills to help you with communication, problem solving and healing or reparation. You may have looked to ways to deal with your problems that have been unsuccessful. Unresolved issues of your past may need to be addressed.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

One of the things I can help with is to explore how your thoughts, feelings and behaviors are related. Challenging negative or distorted thoughts and reframing them into more positive and realistic thoughts has a significant impact on how we see our self, others and the world.

Trauma Informed Care

My experience with trauma informed care has extended to grief, trauma and loss groups with women and individuals addressing a wide range of issues. I have a special interest in working through trauma related to Family of origin, Codependency, Love Addiction, Substance abuse and someone being affected by someone who has/had substance abuse.

Christian Counseling

When clients are willing to explore faith based solutions I am able to share Biblical truths and how to apply them as helpful tools in life.
