I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in California and am licensed in California and Nevada. I am a BIPOC Therapist and try to create a safe and culturally sensitive space for fellow BIPOC individuals to address their mental health challenges, heal from their trauma, and navigate the complexities of their lived experiences. Coming from a biracial background, I understand the complexities of navigating in different ethnic and racial spaces. I am proud of being Black and Chinese. I am currently learning Spanish and hope to one day be bilingual and able to speak fluently to my Spanish speaking clients and friends. I am also an LGBTQIA+ ally and try to create an affirming and open space for LGBTQIA+ individuals. I work with adult individuals who have a history of childhood trauma, neglect, and/or abuse in an effort to help them start to understand and process their experiences and begin to heal. I also work with mother/daughter family units to explore and process relationship disruptions in an effort to heal any lingering hurts and hopefully, maybe, repair the relationship. With couples, I work on helping them improve their communication in an effort to increase their effective communication skills and decrease any miscommunications that lead to arguments.
In our first session together, we will go over the consents, office procedures, expectations, and other admin related information that is needed to understand how therapy with me works. It is important for you to understand what to expect when engaging in the therapeutic process. Next , we will begin to explore your concerns and start to work together to develop a treatment plan for us to work on in future sessions.
My flexibility comes from working with a variety of clients over the course of my career. Through an attuned therapeutic alliance we will explore a variety of modalities that best suits your needs. Treatment is not a “one size fits all” experience when working with me. I listen to my clients and ensure that what I am hearing is what is being expressed. When working with me, I will assist you in identifying your choices and advocate for your well-being.

I assist couples in practicing more effective communication with each other. Sometimes what you want to say isn’t always the message that is delivered or heard. This often leads to misunderstandings and arguments. When working with couples, I explore both sides of an argument and help you to find more effective ways of interacting with each other, so you can potentially improve your communication with each other and strengthen the relationship.
I provide psychotherapy services to help clients examine their lives and identify meaning in their relationships. I work with clients to help them identify thought, feeling and behavioral patterns to increase self-awareness, and begin making changes that will help them have more meaningful interactions with others. I work to uplift, empower, and encourage clients to gain self-awareness, explore their emotions, and improve their ability to navigate their experiences.
I am trained in EMDR and have used it with clients who experienced trauma or profound losses.
I specialize in working with mother-daughter relationships, especially ones that are distant or disconnected. I work from the perspective of facilitating a dialogue that is based on the goals of the participants.
I work with clients who have experienced childhood traumas. I work with clients to try and assist them with healing their inner child by exploring their unmet needs and by identifying messages and learned thoughts and behaviors that may interrupt their ability to be fully functional as adults.
