Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C) in the state of Maryland. I received my Masters from the University of Maryland and have over 25 years of experience. I provide therapeutic support to help individuals of all ages to navigate and manage difficult emotions and stressors. Our time together should be a safe and nurturing space that will support you in the process of better understanding yourself and allow you to have the positive feelings and changes you are seeking.
Our first session will consist of introductions to allow you to build trust and comfort with this process. We will begin exploring the challenges that have brought you to therapy and what you hope to gain from our time together. This time will help me develop a treatment plan that can begin fully capturing how to help you make the growth you are seeking.
Having worked with children, adolescents, and adults in a multitude of settings including school, workplace, and community settings and who have many different life stories, I have learned to take a comprehensive perspective of what could be contributing to your current thoughts, feelings and behaviors and help you acknowledge and address barriers that are not allowing you to recognize your untapped strengths and ability to learn and use healthy coping and communication skills.
I love working with children, adolescents, and adults that are experiencing difficulty in understanding feelings and behaviors that are resulting in anxiety, depression, and anger responses that cause conflict in successfully meeting demands of school, work, and interpersonal relationships. It is exciting to help client's identify unrecognized strengths and help them successfully apply them allowing improved mood and relationships.
I have provided psychoeducational treatment to children and adolescents for over 15 years. This treatment modality helps educate patients about their mental health diagnosis and symptoms and treatment focus helps develop and enhance coping strategies and problem-solving abilities. This could include teaching coping mechanisms, stress management, assertiveness training, and cognitive behavioral therapy.
I have over 20 years of experience providing eclectic psychotherapy to children, adolescent, and adults. This treatment approach allows me to adapt to the unique needs of each patient and utilize whichever processes or strategies that are most appropriate for the patient's treatment goals and expectations. This allows me to develop a treatment plan with the client that is flexible, accommodating and comfortable for the client.
