I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Texas. My therapeutic approach is rooted in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). My goal is to meet clients exactly where they are in their healing journey—whether they are just beginning to confront their trauma or are further along in their recovery. I prioritize creating a trusting, collaborative relationship where clients feel comfortable exploring their emotions while being empowered to take an active role in their healing. I view myself as an anchor for my clients, providing stability, understanding, and guidance as they navigate the challenging terrain of trauma recovery.
In our first session, I would love for us to begin with introductions and answer some random questions to break the ice. Throughout the session I will ask questions to gather more information on your presenting needs and background information. I will always leave time at the end for questions and encourage them!
As a social worker, I really stand proud to say that I always strive to be culturally competent and will always meet the client where they are at. I firmly believe knowledge is power and the more knowledge we can identify together, the stronger the ripple effect in maintaining mental health sustainability.
I really enjoy working with adults who feel stuck or overwhelmed by life or a specific event. I strive to create a safe space for my client and I to identify goals/plans, talk out thoughts , and feel heard.
TCBT is the most common modality that I use in treatment. TCBT allows for the client to challenge unhelpful thoughts feelings and actions in a way that is practical and realistic for the client while being gradually exposed to processing trauma.
Using trauma informed care is crucial to meeting the client where they are at and is essential in creating a safe space for the therapeutic relationship.
