LCSW, 12 years of experience
Hi there, My name is Sandra. My greatest passion is to come alongside others to help empower them and assist in building self-worth, improve communication in their relationships and help each client reach their maximum potential in life. I also provide Christian counseling based on Biblical values upon client request. My areas of expertise include (but are not limited to): stress management, relationship issues, stress, anger management, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and personal growth. I use a holistic approach to evaluate each person within their environment, assess their strengths, and provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. I utilize an evidence-based therapeutic approach along with compassion and understanding as I work with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing. If you are tired of feeling overwhelmed, burnout, or stuck let's work together to get you on the path to a new beginning.
Starting therapy can feel intimidating. During our first session my goal is to get to know my client by having a relaxed conversation with no pressure or judgement. My clients will feel safe, supported, and heard. From there, we’ll decide together if it feels like a good fit and how we want to move forward.
Problem-solving ability is crucial in a therapeutic setting. My ability to help clients identify issues, set relevant goals, and develop strategies to address their challenges fosters positive changes in their lives. I am also genuinely empathetic and possess a great ability to connect with client's emotions, experiences, and challenges. This creates a safe and supportive environment for clients to share their thoughts and feelings.
If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, exhausted, or like you're constantly battling your own thoughts, you're not alone, and you're in the right place. I work best with individuals who are navigating anxiety, depression, or the lasting impact of trauma—including those who may not always have the words for what they're feeling, but know something inside just isn’t okay. Whether your goals are to manage anxiety, heal from past wounds, build stronger relationships, or feel more at peace in your own skin, I offer a supportive, nonjudgmental space where we can work collaboratively toward meaningful growth.
In my practice, I use CBT to help clients build awareness of the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we work to challenge negative thinking patterns, develop more adaptive coping strategies, and implement practical tools for lasting change. I tailor each treatment plan to the individual, incorporating action plans, and skills-building exercises to support progress both in and out of sessions.
I use Solution Focused Treatment as a goal-oriented, strengths-based approach that emphasizes solutions rather than problems. This approch helps clients identify meaningful goals and take small, practical steps toward achieving them.
I have experience integrating faith-based principles into therapy for clients who wish to incorporate their spiritual beliefs into the healing process. My approach is respectful, client-centered. I offer faith-based counseling to support clients in aligning their mental health goals with their spiritual values. This may include incorporating prayer, scripture, spiritual reflection, or faith-informed coping strategies, always based on the client’s preferences and beliefs.
