Are anxiety, ADHD, depression, trauma/PTSD, bipolar or other mood disorders, OCD, sleep problems, grief, or major life changes affecting your daily life? I provide psychiatric medication management and psychotherapy for adults experiencing anxiety and panic, depression, trauma-related symptoms, attention and focus difficulties, insomnia, bipolar and other mood disorders, OCD, and life-transition stress. My approach integrates CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, and other individualized strategies to address overthinking, poor focus, intrusive thoughts, emotional dysregulation, mood instability, and sleep difficulties. Together, we develop a practical treatment plan tailored to your symptoms, goals, and daily life.
Your first session is a chance for me to understand what has been happening, what is affecting you most, and what you hope will improve. We will talk about your current symptoms, mental health and medical history, medications, sleep, daily functioning, relationships, stressors, and previous treatment experiences. I also want to understand what has helped before and what has not. Together, we will identify the most important concerns and develop a personalized treatment plan that may include psychotherapy, medication management, lifestyle strategies, or a combination of approaches. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, better informed about what may be contributing to your symptoms, and clear about the next steps in your care.
My strengths are listening closely, recognizing patterns across symptoms, and translating complex concerns into a clear, practical treatment plan. I have substantial experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, ADHD, insomnia, and mood disorders, and I integrate psychotherapy with medication management when appropriate. Clients can expect collaborative, culturally responsive care focused on improving emotional regulation, attention, sleep, coping, relationships, and day-to-day functioning.
I work best with children, teens, adults, older adults, and families who are looking for thoughtful, personalized mental health care. Many of my clients are dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, ADHD, sleep problems, mood changes, OCD, grief, burnout, or major life transitions. They may feel overwhelmed by racing thoughts, poor focus, emotional ups and downs, relationship stress, or simply not feeling like themselves. I especially enjoy working with people who want to better understand what they are experiencing and are open to a collaborative approach that may include psychotherapy, medication management, practical coping strategies, or a combination of treatments. My goal is to help each client feel understood while developing a plan that fits their needs, values, culture, and daily life.

When anxiety, overthinking, low mood, or negative thoughts start to take over, it can feel difficult to break the cycle. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients recognize unhelpful thought and behavior patterns, understand how those patterns affect emotions, and develop practical coping strategies. CBT can be especially helpful for anxiety, depression, ADHD-related challenges, stress, insomnia, and building greater confidence in everyday life.
When emotions feel intense, overwhelming, or difficult to manage, I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills to help clients feel more grounded and in control. We work on emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, communication, and healthier ways of responding to stress. DBT-based strategies can be helpful for mood instability, relationship difficulties, trauma-related reactions, anger, and emotional overwhelm.
Racing thoughts, chronic stress, difficulty sleeping, or constantly feeling “on edge” can become exhausting. I incorporate Mindfulness-Based Therapy to help clients slow down, become more aware of their thoughts and emotions, and respond to them with greater intention rather than reacting automatically. These skills can help reduce anxiety, improve emotional balance, manage stress, support better sleep, and increase self-awareness.
Painful or traumatic experiences can continue affecting your emotions, relationships, and daily life long after the event has passed. When clinically appropriate, I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients process distressing experiences, reduce the emotional intensity connected to traumatic memories, and move forward with a greater sense of safety and control. EMDR can be helpful for trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and difficult past experiences.
Sometimes you know what you want to change, but getting started or staying consistent can be the hardest part. I use Motivational Interviewing to help clients explore what may be holding them back, clarify their goals, strengthen motivation, and build confidence in making meaningful changes. This approach can be especially helpful with ADHD-related procrastination, lifestyle changes, medication adherence, substance-use concerns, health behaviors, and major life transitions.

I chose to work with Dr. Desroches because I saw in his bio that he works in an authentic, solution based way. After My appointment with Dr. Desroches I can comfirm that I made the correct decision. Dr. Desroches exceeded all of my expectations the way he immediately recognized the distress I was in and walked me through the steps to get myself in a better place, I could not have asked for a better person to receive the help I needed. Thank you Dr. Desroches!
