Hi! I'm Megan, Life can feel overwhelming at times—whether you're facing anxiety, burnout, a major life transition, or simply feeling stuck. I specialize in working with adults who are navigating challenges related to stress, parenting, relationships, career shifts, and emotional well-being. With 20 years of experience in the mental health field, I offer a grounded, compassionate space to explore what’s going on beneath the surface and to help you reconnect with your sense of clarity and purpose. My approach is person-centered and goal-oriented. We’ll work together to identify what matters most to you, then use practical tools—often drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)—to help you build insight, emotional resilience, and momentum toward change. Whether you're working through something specific or simply ready to invest in your growth, I’ll meet you where you are with warmth, respect, and real support.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, you can expect a welcoming, judgment-free space where we’ll begin getting to know each other. I’ll ask some questions to better understand what’s bringing you to therapy, your background, and what you’d like to get out of our work together. There’s no pressure to share everything at once—this is your time, and we’ll go at a pace that feels comfortable for you. My goal is to help you feel heard, supported, and hopeful about the path ahead.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What makes me unique as a therapist is the depth and range of my experience, combined with my ability to connect with people in a warm, down-to-earth way. With over 20 years in the mental health field—including roles as a school counselor and early childhood mental health specialist—I bring a deep understanding of both individual and family systems. I’ve supported people through everything from daily stress to major life transitions, and I know how to tailor my approach to meet each person’s unique needs. My ability to balance empathy with practical strategies helps clients feel both supported and empowered to make real, lasting change.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to support women who are navigating meaningful life transitions and are ready to better understand themselves, their emotions, and their patterns. Many of my clients are mothers—whether they are preparing for motherhood, in the prenatal or postpartum season, or raising children while also trying to stay connected to who they are beyond that role. I work especially well with women who feel overwhelmed, stretched thin, or disconnected from themselves. You might be managing anxiety, experiencing emotional highs and lows, or feeling like you’ve lost a sense of identity in the midst of caring for others. Some of my clients are navigating career shifts, burnout, or the quiet (and sometimes loud) question of “What do I actually want for my life?” My ideal client is thoughtful, self-aware, and open to growth—even if things feel messy right now. She may be used to holding it all together for everyone else but is ready for a space where she can be supported, understood, and gently challenged. I have a particular passion for working with women in the prenatal and postpartum stages, helping them navigate the emotional, relational, and identity changes that come with this season. I also support women through life and career transitions, whether that’s stepping into something new, redefining priorities, or rebuilding after a period of stress or change. In our work together, my goal is to help you feel more grounded, more confident, and more connected—to yourself, your values, and the life you want to create.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

I’m an eclectic therapist, which means I tailor my approach based on your unique needs and goals. I draw from a variety of evidence-based practices—including DBT, Mindfulness Based CBT, person-centered, and relational techniques—to find what works best for you.

Relational

I approach therapy through a relational lens, which means I believe healing happens in the context of safe, supportive relationships—including the one we build together. The therapeutic relationship itself becomes a space where you can show up as you are, feel understood, and begin to explore patterns that may be showing up in other areas of your life. Forming a trusting relationship with my clients is my number one priority. I focus on empathy, compassion and warmth to build this environment where you will feel like coming to therapy is familiar and comfortable.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I incorporate mindfulness-based approaches into therapy to help you slow down, become more present, and develop a deeper awareness of your thoughts, emotions, and body. Many of the struggles people face—like anxiety, overwhelm, and emotional reactivity—are intensified when we’re stuck in autopilot or caught in cycles of overthinking. Mindfulness allows us to gently step out of those patterns and into the present moment, where real change can begin.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) into my work to help clients build practical skills for managing intense emotions, reducing overwhelm, and improving relationships. DBT is especially helpful for individuals who feel emotionally reactive, easily overwhelmed, or stuck in patterns that don’t feel aligned with how they want to show up in their lives. In our work together, we focus on four key areas: mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. These skills are designed to help you better understand your emotions, navigate difficult moments without becoming overwhelmed, and communicate your needs more clearly and confidently.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients create meaningful change while learning how to navigate difficult thoughts and emotions in a healthier, more flexible way. ACT is based on the idea that we don’t have to eliminate discomfort in order to live a fulfilling life—we can learn how to make space for it while still moving toward what matters most. Many of my clients feel stuck in patterns of overthinking, self-doubt, or avoidance. You might find yourself trying to “get rid of” anxiety or uncomfortable emotions, only to feel more overwhelmed. ACT offers a different approach—one that focuses on changing your relationship with those thoughts and feelings rather than fighting them.
