I have over 15 years of experience in the mental health field. I incorporate my Aloha spirit with the worldly knowledge I have gained from travels domestically and abroad. This has also contributed to the ease in which I interact with people. Positivity is always a part of my treatment and something I strongly encourage my patients to utilize. Happiness is within us all, we just need to unbury it.
I like to build rapport with my clients to ensure they feel safe and heard before "unpacking." I believe in moving at clients pace and the natural flow of things.
My biggest strengths come when helping this with trauma related issues. I have worked for years with victims of sexual assault, sexual abuse, and domestic violence. I am also former Federal Law Enforcement and have strong ties and relations with the military community.
I love working with the military/law enforcement community. I was a military spouse for years and a former Federal Corrections Officer. I can offer insight and understanding to these communities having lived through some of the concerns myself.
Venita DeLeon offers therapy covered by Parkland Community Health Plan - Medicaid and UnitedHealthcare/Optum - Medicaid in Texas.
I utilize CBT and TF- CBT depending upon the needs of my clients. I believe that we all have the ability to control our thoughts, thus changing them to better our mental health and understanding. Power of the mind and power of the positive thought.
