I help people who have developed addictive or other self-sabotaging thinking patterns/behaviors through combining CBT, MI, EMDR, and talk therapy. Do you feel that something is holding you back in life? Does it feel as if something is missing but you’re not sure what it is, or if that’s even true? Does it look like you have a great life on the outside, but you still feel empty or unfulfilled on the inside? This is a familiar feeling for people who have become disconnected from their authentic self. When most people think of childhood trauma, physical, mental, or sexual abuse (also known as big T traumas) comes to mind. These are things that have happened that never should have. Although this is accurate, I have found that more people have experienced significant childhood trauma from emotional neglect (often referred to as little t traumas) because what was needed, such as validation and love, was never received. The absence of feeling seen, heard, valued, and important leaves room for a heavy emptiness inside of a person; this is where self-love and a healthy self-esteem are supposed to be. Many times, when someone experiences childhood trauma, it leads to an abundance of other problems such as addiction, codependency, toxic relationships, and emotional dysregulation. Because of my personal journey, I deeply understand the destruction of complex trauma, and I have overcome its negative effects. In 2005, I started a journey of healing, and by 2008 I knew that I wanted to help people with similar life experiences. Although the healing process was far from over, I had already experienced feeling so much “lighter” because the empty heaviness was being released as self-love filled the void. I have created a life of passion and purpose, and I truly do not know anyone who loves their life more than I love mine. I feel this is the purest form of success. My own healing has allowed me to be present with clients while they experience these ‘aha’ moments where insight and clarity combine for life-changing realizations and empowerment. I encourage you to break through the limits of mediocrity and survival mode so you can connect with fulfillment and joy. I understand you are doubtful and maybe even scared, but people feel that when they consider trying something new for the first time. Fear is present to let us know this is important; it is not designed to hold us back. I understand this can be confusing because I believe addiction and trauma live through lies. That’s why I promise to be with you every step of the way, challenging you through a lens of compassion and empathy, so you can experience the reward of your hard work. By using concepts of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) I can teach you how to change your negative core beliefs and create a positive identity. You will finally be able to connect with your authentic self as you heal from the pain of your past. If you are sick and tired of feeling sick and tired, call or schedule with me today. If you do not see a time that works for you in my schedule, please contact me directly so I can do my best to accommodate your needs. I look forward to hearing from you!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

With each session, you will have an opportunity to gain a new perspective and increase self-awareness to eliminate self-sabotaging thoughts and behaviors.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I use a blend of Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, and talk therapy

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Clients connect with me through my most valuable strengths: I am comfortable being vulnerable and real. I have had many clients complain that their therapist does not verbally engage with them, and I promise this won't happen with me. I have a way of educating clients so they can better understand their own experiences. It is important to understand the difference between fault and responsibility. I am known for empathetically challenging clients to become their authentic selves.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I work with people who have experienced various forms of trauma, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
