About me

First, I want to congratulate you on taking the first step toward making a difference in your life. I know that for some, seeking therapy can be difficult, and I am honored to be considered your copilot on this journey. My name is SaQuoira, but you can call me Cora! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been working in the mental health field for the past 10 years, with the last 5 years focused on providing therapy. My goal for your treatment is for it to be client-focused, collaborative, and centered around you. Therapy is your space, and together we will identify your goals, explore what matters most to you, and work toward meaningful change. I consider myself a direct therapist. My approach is warm, genuine, and supportive, while also being honest and straightforward. I won’t simply tell you what you want to hear. I’ll encourage you to look at things from different perspectives, challenge patterns that may no longer be serving you, and celebrate your progress along the way.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin understanding what brings you to therapy. We’ll talk about what you’re currently experiencing, what you’d like support with, and what you hope to get out of therapy. I’ll also ask questions about your background, relationships, strengths, and any experiences that may help me better understand you. You’ll have space to ask questions about me, my approach, and what therapy together may look like. We’ll also talk about confidentiality, expectations, and how we can make our time together feel comfortable and productive.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

A strength I bring to my work with clients is noticing the quiet strengths, the small wins, and the changes you may not always recognize in yourself. I believe progress isn’t always loud or obvious, and sometimes the smallest shifts are the ones worth celebrating. I’ll also bring the hard things to the table when you’re ready, creating space to explore what may be uncomfortable while challenging you to recognize your strengths, possibilities, and the positive changes happening along the way.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with clients who are ready to have the hard conversations, willing to be open and honest with themselves, and ready to show up authentically in therapy. I view therapy as a space for deep conversations. Sometimes those conversations are hard, uncomfortable, and challenging, but I believe they can also be necessary for meaningful growth and change. At the same time, therapy doesn’t always have to be serious! I enjoy working with clients who are comfortable bringing their whole selves into the room. We can laugh, cry, be frustrated, celebrate the wins, and feel all the emotions in between. Therapy is a space for the hard stuff, but it can also be a space where you feel safe enough to simply be human.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT is the process of learning to that you don’t have to feel 100% okay to live the live you want. We’ll work on noticing difficult thoughts, moment’s and emotions and work on ways to continue to move forward.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is understanding how your thoughts, feelings and actions are all connected. We’ll identify patterns that may be causing concerns in your life, and work on ways to navigate them.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

SFBT is about setting a goal and creating and making the steps to take them. Identify your strengths, create plans that seems attainable and relevant to achieve the overall goals.

Trauma Informed Care

We’ll focus on creating a safe, supportive space where you have control over your own story and healing. Together we’ll identify events that may be still causing disruption in your life, while also developing coping skills, confidence and a strong sense of self.
