Hello! I am a Clinical Social Worker with many years of direct clinical practice assisting people with mental health issues. My treatment focus is to restore one's sense of well being while addressing barriers that prevent them feeling better. Often, this may be due to trauma experiences that leads to mood changes and disorders. The evidence treatment modalities that I use with you will foster the goals you seek to achieve.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

A discussion of what treatment is about, the setting, their past experiences, what they are seeking from this therapist in addition to an assessment. The session will end with a summary, a check in as to how they are doing now vs the beginning of the session.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My approach is transparent, I see the client as their own expert , not me. I bring the skill set they will be able to engage with that will begin their road to wellness. I encourage questions, clarification, feedback.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Life brings challenges to us that can prevent us from feeling comfortable and achieving our personal/professional goals. My goal for all I assist, is to promote their strengths, foster their ability to develop strategies and skills that will lead them toward their desired outcomes. Often times, we are unaware of our values, assets and strengths. We can get stuck with phrased that catastropize our worth. I will work with you to change this. You are your expert.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

An evidenced based treatment approach that interrupts and disputes negative thoughts and unhelpful behaviors with facts to support productive thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Is successfully useful for those experiencing depression, anxiety and other mental health problems.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Often, people are focused upon the problem which can cloud their ability to find solutions. This short term, goal focused approach is evidenced based and is useful for promoting positive emotions, ability to bring behavioral change and acquire skills for solution building beyond the therapy setting.

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma experiences can leave an imprint beyond the trauma experience(s) that will be triggered and interrupt relationships well into one's life span. With TIC, the focus is redirected from " what is wrong with you" to " what happended to you?" The techniques are used to assist the person to realize they did nothing wrong, to remain present with the trauma memories occur and to enhance one's well being.
