You don’t have to face your thoughts and emotions alone. A peaceful life is possible, regardless of your circumstances. We’re often troubled more by our perceptions than by reality itself. Sometimes, our thoughts—not our situation—are the scariest part. Even when life gets hard, how we see things shapes how we feel and how much we suffer. As a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), I offer tools that are evidence-based and proven effective—both in research and in my own work with clients. By shifting our thoughts and behaviors, we can transform every part of our lives and relationships. We don’t have to be prisoners to unhelpful thoughts; we have ways to work through them. CBT can help with anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, relationship struggles, and more. I’d be honored to support you in creating meaningful change.
The initial session is a two-way street, built on mutual respect and collaboration. I am here to be a compassionate guide, offering a calm and confidential space where you can share your story at your own pace. You are the expert on your life—your history, your struggles, and what hasn’t worked in the past. My role is to listen deeply, without judgment, to understand not just the surface symptoms, but the patterns that have kept you feeling stuck. In return, I will offer you a clear picture of who I am as a therapist and how I work. My foundation is in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I believe in being transparent about the therapeutic process so you know exactly what to expect and can decide if this approach feels right for you. CBT provides a practical framework for understanding the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we will look at how certain thought patterns—often automatic and unhelpful—might be influencing how you feel and what you do. This isn’t about dismissing your feelings or pretending challenges don’t exist. Instead, CBT offers concrete tools to gently question and reframe those thoughts, breaking old cycles and building new, more effective habits. ACT complements this by shifting the focus from simply reducing distress to building a rich, meaningful life. Rather than trying to eliminate difficult emotions, ACT teaches you how to make room for them with self-compassion, so they no longer dictate your actions. We will work on clarifying what truly matters to you—your values—and then take committed steps toward those values, even in the presence of fear, doubt, or discomfort. Together, these approaches form a powerful combination. They are not just about helping you “feel better” in the moment, but about equipping you with lasting skills to live better—with greater flexibility, resilience, and alignment with who you want to be. My goal is to empower you with tools you can use long after our sessions end. Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, or simply a sense of being stuck, my aim is to help you move from being a passive observer of your own struggles to an active participant in your healing. In our first session, you will gain a sense of what it feels like to be truly heard, as well as a clear understanding of how we can work together to create the change you are looking for.
My experience with using cognitive tools, especially through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), has given me a deep sense of confidence in my work. These approaches have allowed me to stand on solid, evidence-based ground, knowing that the methods I use are not only backed by extensive research but have also been shown time and again to help patients develop meaningful change and achieve their goals. I believe wholeheartedly in the power of research—it provides a strong foundation and gives me the assurance that we are working with tools that are proven to work. I have trained extensively under experts in CPT, and I have had the privilege of co-training in courses to help other clinicians deepen their own practice, which has further reinforced my commitment to delivering care that is both skilled and compassionate. What makes my approach truly unique, however, is the integration of Islamic faith-based concepts into this therapeutic framework. For those who find meaning in their faith, I believe that true healing comes when we align our mental, emotional, and spiritual selves. Islam offers profound wisdom on the nature of the self, the purpose of struggle, and the path to inner peace. Islamic perspectives help contextualize suffering—not as punishment, but as a means of growth, purification, and drawing closer to the Divine. For many, this reframe is deeply liberating. It transforms the therapeutic journey from one of simply managing symptoms to one of spiritual and personal development, rooted in a sense of purpose and divine support. Importantly, I offer this integration especially for those who wish to incorporate their faith into their healing journey. I recognize that each person's relationship with their faith is deeply personal, and I honor that by tailoring my approach to what feels most meaningful and comfortable for you. My role is to help you connect with your own values—whether they are rooted in faith, family, community, or personal aspirations—and to use that connection as a source of strength and guidance. Ultimately, my goal is to help you move toward inner peace—not as a distant ideal, but as an achievable reality. By combining research-backed therapeutic models with the rich spiritual resources of Islam, I aim to provide a holistic path forward. Together, we can work on reshaping unhelpful thoughts, processing difficult experiences, and building a life that reflects your deepest values. Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, or simply a sense of being disconnected from yourself, I am here to walk alongside you with compassion, expertise, and a deep respect for your unique journey.
I see all age groups, however, if online I will not be able to see clients under the age of 16.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I used ACT tools often with mood disorders (anxiety and depression and others). These tools are evidence based and proven to help with these disorders and more.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
My main training is CBT. I used it in different settings, with various age groups and different populations. CBT is a strongly supported evidence based model of therapy, that I have seen very effective for a variety of psychological issues.
Cognitive Processing (CPT)
Currently I an a CPT provider, which means that I have gone through extensive, training and consultation from CPT experts on my PTSD patients so that I could attain the status of a provider. CPT is a very well-established, evidence based method of therapy for PTSD. IT aims to eliminate the symptoms of the disorder, not simply to cope with them. I have clearly witnessed that in my practice several times.
Couples Counseling
I have now accumulated a sizable experience in dealing with couples especially those from the Muslim and/or Arab cultural backgrounds. Based on my my post-graduate courses in family therapy as well as my experience with couples, I am confident to say that I can help couples move to a better place in their relationship.
Family Therapy
I have accumulated some considerable experience dealing with family problems which was supported by my cultural sensitivity and awareness. My experience with families has been encouraging and gives me confidence to help more families.

I genuinely look forward to my sessions with Dr. Dina. She listens with so much care and truly understands what I’m going through. Her warm and honest approach made me feel comfortable opening up to her right away, and I trust that she really understands how I feel.

She asked questions that really made me think and reflect. I felt safe to explain exactly what I needed to and she has the patience to let me get the words out, even when I don't quite understand what I want to say. I know I lore-dropped like crazy, but she was able to assess very fast and help me process what I really felt. I would include she is direct about my situation and open minded as my case is strange.
