Hi, my name is Tara Devlin, and I am the owner of Peace of Mind Counseling. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with over 10 years of clinical experience supporting individuals through life’s challenges. I believe that positive mental health is fundamental to overall well-being, yet it is often misunderstood or stigmatized. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable being open and honest. I work alongside individuals to develop practical coping skills that help manage stress, anxiety, life transitions, and other emotional struggles, empowering them to feel more confident and in control of their lives.
In our first session, my focus is on meeting you exactly where you are. I strive to create an environment where you feel heard, respected, and supported without judgment. Therapy with me is a collaborative process—I don’t believe in simply telling you what to do. Instead, we work together to explore your concerns, identify your goals, and build a plan that fits your unique needs. I welcome open communication and feedback, and I encourage you to be an active participant in your care. My approach is flexible, authentic, and centered on what will be most helpful and meaningful for you.
I maintain a person centered approach as each person’s lived life experiences are unique to them. I will meet you where you are at. I truly love being a therapist because I get to assist people in learning a new happiness and a new freedom. I get to witness increased hope and inner strength while empowering a client to live their best life.
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to connect with clients in a genuine and down-to-earth way. I bring extensive experience working with individuals facing substance use challenges, as well as those navigating anxiety, stress, and life transitions. I integrate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), while also focusing on real-life, practical coping strategies that clients can apply outside of sessions. My background, both professionally and personally, allows me to approach each client with empathy, authenticity, and a strong commitment to helping them create meaningful, lasting change.

She did a wonderful job of listening and then responding. She was very easy to talk too and had a warm and inviting tone to her. I felt better just after my first session of talking with her.

She is goal focused, creating a gameplan for teaching the skills I need to regulate not only emotions but my nervous system! She is doing this in a warm welcoming inviting environment! And easy to talk to!
