I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and founder of , where I focus on understanding how environment shapes mental health, emotional resilience, behavior, and personal growth throughout life. I work with adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, autism spectrum disorders, behavioral concerns, psychosis, trauma-related challenges, and substance use-related conditions. My approach is centered on the belief that our environment, relationships, life experiences, stressors, and personal struggles influence how we think, cope, communicate, and function emotionally. Through Environmental Therapy Solutions, I help individuals better understand the connection between their environment and mental well-being while developing healthier coping skills, emotional awareness, and long-term resilience. I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, supportive therapy, ADOS-informed autism evaluations, and maintenance-focused treatment for individuals with a history of substance use disorders who are working toward stability and recovery. I believe resilience is one of the most important foundations in strengthening the mind and overcoming difficult life experiences. My goal is to help clients recognize their strengths, improve emotional functioning, and develop practical tools that support healing, stability, and personal growth. My treatment approach combines evidence-based care, psychoeducation, psychotherapy techniques, and collaborative treatment planning to create personalized care tailored to each individual’s needs. I strive to provide a supportive and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, empowered, and motivated to move forward in their mental health journey.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session, my goal is to create an environment where you feel comfortable, understood, and genuinely heard — not judged. I’m naturally laid-back, transparent, and easy to talk to, and I believe one of the biggest things missing in mental health care today is real human connection. I’m not the type of provider who simply reads from a script or makes sessions feel cold or robotic. I want our conversations to feel natural, open, and authentic. While maintaining professionalism and structure, I strive to create a space where clients feel like they are speaking to someone they can truly connect with — someone who wants to understand their story, not just their symptoms. Many people already know what it feels like to be talked at; my goal is to create an experience where you feel listened to, respected, and understood. During the session, we’ll discuss your current concerns, emotional experiences, stressors, goals, relationships, and how your environment may be impacting your mental health and daily functioning. I strongly believe our experiences, surroundings, trauma, family dynamics, and life transitions shape who we are emotionally and psychologically, and understanding those factors is an important part of healing and growth. For adolescents and individuals seeking autism-related support or ADOS-informed evaluations, we will also explore communication styles, sensory experiences, emotional regulation, developmental history, social interactions, behavioral patterns, and overall functioning. I believe it is important for families to understand that there can sometimes be underlying emotional, behavioral, developmental, anxiety-related, trauma-related, or environmental factors that may present with symptoms similar to autism spectrum disorder. Because of this, my evaluation process is thoughtful, individualized, and focused on understanding the whole person rather than simply focusing on a diagnosis alone. When it comes to medication management, I believe in being careful, responsible, and collaborative. Unless a medication regimen has already been established, I typically do not rush into starting medications immediately. I believe it is important to first understand the full picture of a patient’s mental and physical health before making treatment decisions. Depending on the medication and clinical situation, I may recommend laboratory work through services such as Quest Diagnostic or coordination with primary care providers to ensure there are no underlying medical conditions, medication interactions, or health concerns that could interfere with treatment or safety. My goal is not simply to prescribe medication, but to ensure treatment is safe, appropriate, individualized, and supportive of the patient’s overall health and well-being. I believe mental health care should focus on treating the person as a whole — mentally, emotionally, and physically. Above all, I want clients to leave the first session feeling comfortable, supported, and hopeful — like they finally found someone who genuinely wants to understand them as a person, not just as a diagnosis or chart.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths is helping people recognize that sometimes the answers to what they are struggling with are closer than they realize. Many individuals experience anxiety, depression, mood instability, emotional pain, trauma-related symptoms, or even psychotic symptoms without fully understanding how past experiences, environments, relationships, or unresolved pain may still be affecting them today. I believe that many people naturally try to move away from the things that hurt them emotionally because they want peace, comfort, or relief. As humans, we often suppress painful experiences, difficult emotions, or traumatic memories in order to keep functioning. However, unresolved pain, chronic stress, trauma, family dynamics, or life disruptions can continue to affect the mind and body in ways that show up later as emotional struggles, anxiety, depression, anger, self-doubt, or other mental health symptoms. My therapeutic approach focuses on helping individuals better understand those deeper patterns while building resilience, emotional awareness, and mental strength. I help guide patients toward confronting and understanding difficult thoughts, emotions, and experiences rather than constantly running from them. I believe growth and healing often begin when we learn how to challenge the thoughts and experiences that have been controlling us internally. I combine supportive therapy, psychoeducation, evidence-based treatment, lifestyle recommendations, coping strategies, and medication management when appropriate to help individuals improve their overall mental well-being. My goal is not simply to reduce symptoms, but to help people better understand themselves, regain confidence, improve emotional functioning, and create long-term change. What also stands out about my approach is my honesty, transparency, and ability to connect with people in a genuine way. I believe patients deserve real conversations, authentic support, and someone who will be direct while still being compassionate and understanding. I’m not here to judge people or give robotic responses — I’m here to help people face difficult challenges honestly while supporting them through the process of healing, growth, and becoming mentally stronger.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with individuals who are ready to better understand themselves, improve their mental health, and become more emotionally aware, even if they may not fully know where to begin yet. My ideal clients are adolescents, adults, and older adults who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma-related symptoms, emotional stress, behavioral concerns, autism spectrum-related concerns, life transitions, self-esteem issues, or difficulty coping with overwhelming emotions and experiences. Many of the individuals I work with are people who feel misunderstood, emotionally overwhelmed, mentally exhausted, or stuck in patterns that they cannot fully explain. Some may struggle with overthinking, emotional suppression, unresolved trauma, relationship difficulties, social challenges, or feeling disconnected from themselves and others. I also work with individuals who are seeking clarity regarding autism-related concerns through ADOS-informed evaluations and support. I am especially passionate about helping people who want more than just symptom management. My approach is best suited for individuals who are open to exploring how their environment, upbringing, relationships, stressors, and life experiences may be contributing to their current emotional and mental health challenges. Together, we work toward building resilience, emotional strength, self-awareness, healthier coping strategies, and long-term growth. I strive to create a therapeutic environment that feels genuine, supportive, transparent, and comfortable — especially for clients who may have previously felt unheard, judged, or disconnected in healthcare settings. My goal is to help individuals feel understood while guiding them toward greater stability, confidence, healing, and overall well-being.

My treatment methods

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

In my practice, I specialize in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), an evidence-based approach that emphasizes finding practical solutions and leveraging a patient’s strengths to address challenges. With a strong foundation in this therapeutic method, I guide patients to focus on their goals and the positive changes they want to achieve, rather than dwelling on problems. During sessions, I help patients identify past successes, explore their resources, and develop actionable steps to create meaningful progress. This approach is particularly effective for patients seeking short-term, goal-oriented strategies for issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, or life transitions. By keeping the focus on what works and building resilience, my goal is to empower patients to create sustainable improvements in their mental health and overall well-being.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

In my practice as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I have found Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to be exceptionally beneficial. ACT helps patients embrace their thoughts and feelings without judgment, promoting mindfulness and acceptance. By guiding patients to identify their core values and commit to actions aligned with these values, I support them in creating meaningful and fulfilling lives despite challenging emotions. Through ACT, patients learn to separate themselves from unhelpful thoughts, reduce their impact, and increase their resilience, ultimately leading to improved emotional well-being and a more purpose-driven approach to life.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my practice, I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help patients understand and change the thought patterns that influence their emotions and behaviors. With a strong emphasis on collaboration, I guide patients in identifying negative or unhelpful thoughts and replacing them with more balanced, constructive ones. CBT is highly effective for a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, and stress. During sessions, I work with patients to develop practical coping strategies, such as challenging cognitive distortions, practicing mindfulness, and engaging in behavioral activation. By focusing on present concerns and actionable steps, CBT helps patients gain a sense of control, build resilience, and achieve their mental health goals. This structured, evidence-based approach fosters long-lasting improvements in both mental and emotional well-being

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

I have found Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to be an invaluable tool for addressing emotional distress and relationship issues. EFT centers on helping patients identify, experience, and express their emotions in a safe and supportive environment. By focusing on the underlying emotional patterns and attachment needs, EFT facilitates deeper connections and healing within relationships. Through this approach, I guide patients in exploring their emotional responses and interpersonal dynamics, fostering greater emotional awareness and resilience. By helping patients navigate and transform their emotional experiences, EFT enhances their ability to build and sustain meaningful, supportive relationships, ultimately leading to improved emotional well-being and relational satisfaction.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

utilize Mindfulness-Based Therapy to help patients cultivate a greater sense of awareness and presence. This approach emphasizes the importance of being fully engaged in the present moment, observing thoughts and feelings without judgment. By integrating mindfulness techniques, such as focused breathing and mindful observation, I guide patients in managing stress, reducing anxiety, and enhancing emotional regulation. Mindfulness-Based Therapy empowers patients to develop a compassionate and non-reactive relationship with their internal experiences, fostering resilience and improving overall mental well-being. Through this therapeutic approach, patients learn to navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity and calm, leading to a more balanced and fulfilling life.
