I have worked in the mental and behavioral health field for 20 years. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Georgia and South Carolina. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor - Mental Health Service Provider (LPC-MHSP) in Tennessee and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in North Carolina. I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). I believe that achieving & maintaining mental health is as important as maintaining one’s physical health. I will partner with you on your road to self-improvement, self-discovery, & personal empowerment. I enjoy working with clients who are willing to make the commitment to themselves to do the work necessary to implement change.
During our first session we will work together to identify why you choose this particular time in your life to begin (or return) to the therapy. I will gather background information on what challenges you have faced and/or are facing, what approaches you have taken in addressing these challenges, and how successful these actions have been in helping you address your needs. We will work together to identify your most significant areas of concern and discuss potential paths we can explore to help you gain a resolution to your concerns. You will also have the opportunity to express your desired outcome from participating in therapy.
The therapy process is a collaborative one. Together we will identify your needs, establish treatment goals, and work to establish new, healthy thought processes and behaviors.
I do not believe that a client has to be in therapy for an indefinite period of time. In some instances, meaningful changes can be made in a shorter period of time. It is my job to equip you with the necessary skills to allow you to thrive in your life while minimizing the amount of time you remain in treatment. The therapy process is a collaborative one. Together we will identify your needs, establish treatment goals, and work to establish new, healthy thought processes and behaviors.
