About me

I’m a therapist passionate about supporting people through both emotional struggles and the real-life challenges they face. My work focuses on healing that’s not just psychological but also grounded in your everyday experiences. I offer a compassionate, down-to-earth approach that’s tailored to your needs. Together, we’ll explore what’s holding you back, build practical tools, and work toward helping you feel more understood, empowered, and ready to move forward.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, you can expect a welcoming, judgment-free space where we’ll talk about what brings you in and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. I’ll ask questions to get a sense of your history, current challenges, and goals. It’s a chance for us to get to know each other, and for you to feel out if I’m the right fit. Most importantly, you set the pace—nothing is rushed or forced.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths as a provider is my ability to meet clients where they are—with empathy, honesty, and without judgment. I bring a calm, grounded presence into the room, which helps clients feel safe to open up. I’m also deeply attuned to both the emotional and practical aspects of healing, helping clients explore their inner world while building tools they can use in real life.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I’m best positioned to support clients who are navigating life transitions, chronic stress, or the emotional impact of medical diagnoses. I work well with individuals who want to understand themselves more deeply while also finding practical tools to cope. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected, I offer a grounded and supportive space to process, heal, and grow.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

• I help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts. • I teach the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. • I support clients in reframing negative thinking patterns. • I use cognitive restructuring and behavioral activation techniques. • I guide clients through real-life experiments to test beliefs. • I assign thought logs and coping strategies for practice between sessions.

Motivational Interviewing

When using Motivational Interviewing, I focus on: Collaboration, not pressure We work together in an equal partnership. You set the goals; I help guide the process. Evoking your strengths and reasons for change Instead of me telling you what to do, I help you uncover your reasons for growth based on what matters most to you. Exploring ambivalence without judgment Feeling torn is normal. MI helps you explore both sides of that conflict safely and honestly. Building confidence We break down barriers, identify past successes, and increase your belief that real change is possible. Moving toward action at your pace Whether you’re ready to take immediate steps or you’re still exploring options, MI meets you exactly where you are.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

When using CPT, I focus on creating a safe, collaborative, and validating environment where clients can process trauma without feeling overwhelmed. My approach includes: Identifying stuck points We work together to uncover thoughts and beliefs that developed from trauma and continue to cause emotional pain. Understanding trauma’s impact I help clients make connections between their experiences, beliefs, and emotional reactions. Challenging and reshaping beliefs Using structured worksheets, guided questioning, and cognitive restructuring, we gradually shift trauma-related thoughts into more compassionate and realistic perspectives. Strengthening emotional regulation and self-trust As insights grow, clients often find a renewed sense of control, decreased self-blame, and increased confidence in navigating daily life. Empowerment and skill-building CPT gives clients tools they can use long after therapy ends to manage triggers, challenge negative thinking, and maintain long-term emotional stability.

Psychoeducation

My approach to psychoeducation emphasizes clarity, empowerment, and collaboration. I focus on: Normalizing and clarifying symptoms Helping clients understand that their reactions often make sense based on their experiences and biology. Explaining mental health concepts in practical terms I use examples, visuals, real-life analogies, and handouts to make information easy to understand and apply. Strengthening self-awareness Psychoeducation helps clients see patterns in their thoughts, behaviors, and emotions—giving them more control over their responses. Reducing fear and overwhelm When clients understand the “why,” they often feel calmer and more capable of managing their symptoms. Connecting insight to skill-building Information is paired with actionable steps, coping tools, or therapeutic techniques that clients can begin using immediately. Empowering long-term decision-making Clients learn skills and knowledge they can continue using long after therapy ends.

Christian Counseling

My Christian Counseling approach is compassionate, nonjudgmental, and grounded in both clinical knowledge and biblical truth. I focus on: Integrating faith with evidence-based practices Clients receive the benefits of therapeutic modalities such as CBT, MI, or trauma-informed care while also having space to explore scripture, prayer, or spiritual reflection when desired. Using biblical principles to support healing Themes such as grace, forgiveness, purpose, courage, and resilience are woven into the therapeutic process when it aligns with the client’s goals. Exploring spiritual identity and meaning Many clients find clarity and grounding by exploring how faith shapes their self-worth, relationships, and life decisions. Addressing faith-related challenges This includes spiritual doubt, church-related hurt, guilt, feeling distant from God, or reconciling difficult life events with one’s beliefs. Keeping therapy client-directed Clients determine the level of faith integration—some prefer heavy incorporation of scripture and prayer, while others want a balanced approach that simply acknowledges their beliefs.
