Hi, I’m Kelly, a Licensed Professional Counselor and nature-informed therapist. I specialize in helping teens, young adults, and women who are feeling overwhelmed by perfectionism, anxiety, and burnout. I take an eclectic approach to therapy, combining evidence-based practices like CBT and DBT with nature-informed therapy to support growth and healing in a down-to-earth, relatable way. Before opening my private practice, I worked in a clinical setting for several years and saw how often people—especially caregivers, high achievers, and helping professionals—put themselves last. My work focuses on helping clients set boundaries, reconnect with their values, and stop measuring their worth by productivity. Therapy with me is collaborative, nonjudgmental, and often includes humor.
The first session is all about getting to know you and understanding what brought you to therapy. We'll take time to discuss your goals, challenges, and what you're hoping to get out of our work together. Operating from a behaviorist perspective, I believe that a client's circumstances play a significant role in shaping their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. We'll also talk about what therapy may look like moving forward, including my approach and how we can tailor sessions to meet your needs. Most importantly, this is your time to ask questions, share concerns, and start building trust in a supportive, nonjudgmental space.
A behaviorism focus helps guide my clients toward practical change by addressing how their situations influence their thoughts and feelings. My trauma-informed approach ensures sensitivity to my client's past experiences and focuses on creating a safe a supportive space for healing. I have an ongoing commitment to personal and professional development and am dedicated to combating burnout and providing the best care to my clients.
Have you just been through some stuff in your lifetime? Maybe life did not deal you the best hand and that experience created negative thinking patterns rooted in your family dynamics. Despite these challenges you are a goal-oriented person who battles anxiety and imposter syndrome. Perfectionism and the weight of expectations on yourself to do and be better can feel heavy. You may have lost friends and/or family to mental illness or addiction. You may even have lost yourself at some point but you belong here and you deserve to live a good and fulfilling life. I assist clients in processing guilt and shame to build a better future by challenging cognitive distortions and accepting what is within our control. Whether they’ve been in therapy before or this is their first time, they’re open to exploring new ways of healing — through reflection, nature, practical skills, and a grounded, judgment-free relationship. If this sounds like you, you’re in the right place.
I work collaboratively with clients to become aware of cognitive biases and learn to challenge those to offer different perspectives and decrease the impact of symptoms. Cognitive reframing is a constant evaluation of our perceptions. We will establish connections between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
I assist clients in developing psychological flexibility-learning to accept difficult thoughts and emotions rather than avoiding them. Through mindfulness, values exploration, and committed action, I guide clients in recognizing what truly matters to them and take steps toward a meaningful life.
I take a trauma-informed approach to therapy, which means I prioritize creating a safe, supportive environment for my clients. Through my training in nature-informed therapy and years of practice, I've learned to recognize how trauma can shape behavior and emotions. I use evidence based techniques like grounding exercises and mindfulness to help clients feel present and in control. I also focus on empowerment, helping clients build resilience and set goals at their own pace
