I'm so glad you are here! My name is Dr. Monique C. Scott and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Pennsylvania. I have over 9 years of experience supporting individuals and couples who want to better understand themselves, strengthen their relationships, and create lasting change. I also serve as a clinical supervisor, which means I’m deeply engaged in both practicing and mentoring within the field. I believe that everyone is entitled to wellness and peace. My work is rooted in the idea that healing happens when you feel seen, heard, and supported, just as you are. I specialize in working with individuals navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, and relational challenges. I also have a passion for supporting parents experiencing complicated grief related to raising a child on the Autism spectrum, offering a space where those layered emotions can be acknowledged and understood. While this is therapy, I invite you to show up as your full, authentic self, because I will do the same. I strive to create a safe, judgment-free space where we can explore even the most painful or uncomfortable topics together. Our work is collaborative, grounded in partnership, honesty, and trust. In our sessions, there is room for it all, laughter, tears, reflection, and growth. You don’t have to navigate this alone. I’m in it with you.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our initial session will be dedicated to getting to us getting to know each other. We will complete an intake and explore what you would like to accomplish in therapy and on your journey to living the life you desire.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Clients often tell me they appreciate that I’m both warm and direct. I won’t just sit back and nod, I’ll help you make sense of what’s happening, gently challenge patterns when needed, and support you in building real, usable skills. In our work together, you can expect a collaborative, non-judgmental space, practical tools alongside deeper insight, support in both understanding your patterns and changing them, and a pace that respects where you are while still helping you move forward.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My approach is best suited for Individuals navigating anxiety, emotional overwhelm, or relationship patterns that feel hard to break. Couples experiencing disconnection, communication challenges, or rebuilding after hurt or clients who are insightful but still feel “stuck” in cycles they can’t shift on their own. My door is also open to those who just need a safe space to talk.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

“I have extensive experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. In my work, I support clients in identifying unhelpful patterns, challenging negative thinking, and building practical coping strategies they can apply in everyday situations.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help couples understand and shift the deeper emotional patterns that shape their relationship. Together, we explore the underlying feelings and attachment needs that often get expressed as conflict, disconnection, or frustration. My role is to help both partners feel heard, supported, and safe enough to engage in new, more meaningful ways with each other, strengthening emotional connection and trust.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients build practical skills for managing intense emotions, navigating stress, and improving relationships. In our work together, I focus on helping you develop mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness in ways that feel realistic and applicable to your daily life. My approach is supportive and collaborative. I’m not just teaching skills, but helping you integrate them in a way that feels authentic and sustainable.

Attachment-based

I take an attachment-based approach to help clients understand how early relational experiences may be influencing their current relationships, sense of self, and emotional responses. In therapy, we explore these patterns with care and curiosity, while also working toward developing more secure ways of connecting—with yourself and with others. I strive to create a consistent, supportive space where healing and growth can occur at your pace.

Couples Counseling

In couples counseling, I work with partners to improve communication, deepen understanding, and navigate challenges in a more connected and intentional way. I help couples slow down unhelpful cycles, clarify needs, and build skills that support both individual and relational growth. My approach is balanced and nonjudgmental, ensuring both partners feel heard while we work toward shared goals for the relationship.
