Hi! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas. I obtained my master’s degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio and have been licensed as a social worker for 7 years. I am passionate about working with people from all walks of life. I focus on meeting people where they are in life and helping them utilize their own strengths to reach a place of healing.
In our first session together, we will begin with brief introductions and begin building rapport. Then, we will dive into presenting challenges and expectations for therapy.
As a therapist, I believe that of my strongest strengths is that I am a relational therapist that focuses on identifying and utilizing my clients strengths to guide therapy. I am also person-centered so I strive to meet my clients where they are in life. Many times I have been told that "working with teens is my superpower."
I have the most experience working with adolescents and young adults. They are usually struggling with anxiety, trauma, depression, self-confidence, body image, and life transitions that affect their daily life. However, they are motivated to heal and improve their overall life satisfaction.
Sendy Zapata offers therapy covered by Parkland Community Health Plan - Medicaid and UnitedHealthcare/Optum - Medicaid in Texas.
It is very important to me that I meet all my clients where they are in life; and to provide a safe and non-judgmental environment where the client can be authentically themselves as I help them to become more self-aware.
I prefer to focus on my client's strengths and innate resilience rather than their weaknesses. This way I believe it will be easier to find solutions to your problems by developing a positive and flexible mindset.
Though I utilize a variety of therapy methods as needed in treatment, as a humanistic therapist I take a holistic approach in treating clients by focusing on self-discovery. Together we explore your feelings, circumstances, and utilize your own strengths to create a treatment plan that is unique to you and your needs.
