Hi, I'm Lex. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (#125072) and EMDR trained psychotherapist based out of Los Angeles. I was born and raised in Michigan and spent the majority of my adult life in Chicago, IL where I earned my undergraduate degree in Philosophy and my Masters in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago. As a Los Angeles transplant, I have really been able to grow into myself and my career. Outside of my role as a therapist, I enjoy relaxing with my dogs, Frank and Cobain, and my cat, Atticus. I love all things comedy and I am a plant enthusiast! I absolutely love living in Los Angeles and spend as much time outdoors as I can.
In our first session, we’ll focus on creating a safe and comfortable space where you can share at your own pace. I’ll ask about what brings you to therapy, your background, and any goals or concerns you have. There’s no pressure to dive too deep right away—this session is about building trust, understanding your needs, and beginning to shape a path forward that supports your healing and growth.
I have worked in diverse settings, providing support to children, adolescents, and adults, particularly those from marginalized communities impacted by systemic barriers. My experience and commitment to social justice allows me to acknowledge the individual and the systems within which they exist that impact their wellness. Being of mixed ethnicity, I have come to deeply resonate with clients experiencing difficulties with identity and connection to self, others and the world.
I love working with both teens and adults. While there is a significant amount of overlap in struggles, each population also has difficulties unique to their separate stages in life. I help my clients work through past wounds and current concerns, and (re)connect with themselves to build the life and relationships they deserve. Folx struggling with anxiety, depression, stress and trauma are especially drawn to my work.
I am trained in EMDR and I am currently working toward full certification. EMDR is a highly effective therapy that helps the brain reprocess trauma, shift negative thought patterns, and create lasting change.
I approach my work from a trauma-informed lens which allows me to attune to my clients and their past experiences. This ensures I engage with my clients from a non-judgmental and sensitive approach.
