Hi, I’m Alison Lee, a Licensed Professional Counselor passionate about helping adults and adolescents work through anxiety, depression, trauma, mood concerns, stress, and difficult life transitions. I work with clients who may feel overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, disconnected, or unsure of how to move forward, and I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where they feel comfortable being themselves. My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical, using evidence-based therapies such as CBT, ACT, TF-CBT and other trauma-informed approaches to help clients better understand themselves, develop healthier coping skills, and build lasting change. My goal is to help clients feel more confident, emotionally balanced, and empowered in their daily lives and relationships.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session, we’ll spend time getting to know each other and discussing what brings you to counseling. I’ll invite you to share your main concerns, current challenges, and any important background information that may help me better understand your experiences. We’ll complete a comprehensive assessment, talk about what you hope to gain from therapy, and begin identifying goals that feel meaningful and realistic for you. Together, we’ll discuss first steps and create a plan that supports your needs and helps you move toward positive change at a pace that feels comfortable.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my authentic and down-to-earth approach. I believe therapy works best when clients feel safe enough to be real, so I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel genuinely heard, understood, and comfortable showing up as themselves. I balance compassion with a practical and realistic approach, helping clients not only process their experiences and emotions, but also develop tools they can actually use in their daily lives. I enjoy teaching practical coping skills, helping clients better understand themselves, and finding realistic strategies that support lasting change outside of therapy sessions. I recognize that no two clients are the same, and I tailor treatment to each person’s unique needs, goals, and experiences. I have experience working with individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, mood concerns, stress, and life transitions across outpatient and inpatient settings. I have over 15 years of experience in the mental health field. This background has strengthened my ability to assess complex situations, support clients through difficult emotions, and adapt treatment approaches when needed.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work primarily with adolescents and adults experiencing depression, anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, and life stressors ranging from everyday challenges to more significant hardships. I enjoy working with people who are ready to make changes, as well as those who may feel stuck or unsure of how to move forward. My goal is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can build insight, learn practical coping skills, and feel more confident navigating life’s challenges.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. We work together to identify patterns that may be keeping them stuck and build healthier ways of thinking and coping. I focus on practical tools that clients can apply in their daily lives.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I use TF-CBT to support clients in understanding and working through the impact of trauma. We build coping skills first, then gradually process difficult experiences while helping reshape unhelpful thoughts. The goal is to reduce trauma-related symptoms and help clients feel more in control of their emotions and daily life.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use ACT to help clients make room for difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them. We work on identifying what matters most to them and building skills to stay grounded and take action in line with those values. The focus is on creating a meaningful life, even in the presence of challenges.
