About me

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the founder of The Mental Health Perspective LLC. My practice is grounded in a warm, compassionate, trauma-informed approach that recognizes each person’s experiences, strengths, and individual path toward healing. I offer both intuition and clinical structure, while recognizing what may be underneath the presenting issue while still giving you practical tools to move forward. What I like to do is focus on the whole person, not just the diagnosis which I have found can be appealing to clients who don't want to feel like they're being reduced to a symptom or label-a diagnosis. I like to help clients understand themselves. Rather than simply telling someone what to do, I help you identify patterns and understand why you respond the way they do.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

We’ll take time to understand what brought you to therapy, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop practical strategies to help you respond differently and move forward. In the beginning, progress will feel more like talking to a fiend that you really trust. As we continue, our work will begin to feel more like an increase in confidence with relation to making decisions, communicating more effectively, setting healthier boundaries, managing difficult emotions with greater ease. This comes from recognizing old patterns before they take over. Over time, the goal is for you to feel more grounded, self-aware, and empowered—not because life becomes perfect, but because you have a stronger understanding of yourself and the tools to navigate life differently.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My background has given me a unique ability to connect with people on an extraordinary level. Yes, I bring the empathy, emotional awareness, and life experience of someone who has spent years understanding people, performance, vulnerability, and human connection but I believe that this allows me to meet clients in a way that is both genuine and elevated. My approach combines that natural connection with clinical training in trauma-informed care, EMDR, Brainspotting, CBT, and DBT. I’m able to meet you where they are while also helping you gain insight, develop practical tools, and create meaningful change. What sets my approach apart is my ability to connect with clients not only clinically, but humanly—with depth, empathy, and authenticity.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are adults who are ready to gain a deeper understanding of themselves , how they relate to the world, and create meaningful change in their lives. They may be navigating relationship or communication challenges, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, self-esteem, or simply feel stuck in patterns they’re ready to break. I especially enjoy working with people who find it difficult to be honest with others and need a safe place to TRULY discover theirselves. . You don’t have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. My goal is to meet you where you are, help you feel understood, and support you while we work as a "team" to find a way forward.

My treatment methods

EMDR

I use EMDR as a way to help clients process experiences that may still feel emotionally present, even when they happened in the past. Together, we identify experiences, beliefs, emotions, or patterns that may be contributing to current difficulties and create a sense of safety and readiness before beginning the processing work. Through guided bilateral stimulation and a structured therapeutic process, EMDR can help the brain reprocess distressing experiences so they feel less overwhelming and have less influence on the present. I move at the client’s pace and continually monitor their emotional experience throughout treatment. For me, EMDR is not about erasing memories—it’s about helping clients develop a different relationship with those memories, so they can feel more grounded, empowered, and able to move forward without the past defining their present.

Brainspotting

I use Brainspotting to help clients access and process emotions, experiences, and body sensations that may be difficult to reach through conversation alone. The approach is based on the idea that where we look can influence how we access and process what we are experiencing internally. In sessions, I help clients identify a meaningful emotional or physical response and use focused eye positioning, mindfulness, and attuned therapeutic support to explore what emerges. Rather than forcing a particular outcome, I allow the client’s experience to guide the process and move at a pace that feels safe and manageable. Brainspotting can be especially helpful when clients understand something intellectually but still feel emotionally or physically affected by it. My goal is to help clients access deeper levels of processing, release what may be keeping them stuck, and develop a greater sense of calm, integration, and connection within themselves.
