Do you feel stuck and unsure of what to do next to help your child? Maybe you feel as if you have tried everything you can and still do not have the outcome you wish? I would like to help you figure out what those next steps can be. I have 8 years of experience working with children and adolescents (preschool through high school) as a CT certified school psychologist in a school system. With my additional license as a Professional Counselor (LPC), I bring a unique skill set to a private practice that allows me to really understand your child through multiple lenses and aspects of life. My specialties include Autism Spectrum Disorder, learning disabilities, executive function difficulties, ADHD, anxiety, depression, social difficulties and overall behavioral management.
I will first gather information about your development, family, present concerns, and current functioning. Then we will discuss the purpose of counseling and potential goal focus. Lastly, we will discuss parameters of counseling and set up our next session. If time permits, we can began building rapport with the start of therapy to close the session.
Working in a school setting has really afforded me the ability to better understand multiple aspects of a child's life and how challenges can manifest differently across settings. Some of my biggest strengths lie in my ability to see a child as a whole with multiple facets of functioning (social, emotional, behavioral, cognitive, neurological) that interact together. As an evaluator, I am comprehensive in how I assess and analyze the results, looking for patterns across measures in order to determine the true origin of your child/adolescent's challenges.
