Do you feel stuck and unsure of what to do next to help your child? Maybe you feel as if you have tried everything you can and still do not have the outcome you wish? I would like to help you figure out what those next steps can be. I have 8 years of experience working with children and adolescents (preschool through high school) as a CT certified school psychologist in a school system. With my additional license as a Professional Counselor (LPC), I bring a unique skill set to a private practice that allows me to really understand your child through multiple lenses and aspects of life. My specialties include Autism Spectrum Disorder, learning disabilities, executive function difficulties, ADHD, anxiety, depression, social difficulties and overall behavioral management.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I offer in-person psychological evaluations and virtual counseling individual sessions for CT residents. For testing, the first session will involve gathering information, determining what battery of tests to administer and scheduling next appointments (i.e. interview, testing, review of results). For counseling, the first session will be an intake session where I will learn about your child/adolescent and pick tentative goals to work towards in counseling. The following sessions will focus on working towards those goals, with the hope that your child/adolescent will learn concrete skills needed to be a more whole individual and face challenges successfully.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I believe that in order to change patterns in life you have to be willing to be honest with yourself and vulnerable enough to listen and apply new skills, which can be scary and uncomfortable. With counseling, my therapeutic approach includes, but is not limited to motivational interviewing, behavioral therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-centered therapy, crisis and behavioral management and integrative therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Working in a school setting has really afforded me the ability to better understand multiple aspects of a child's life and how challenges can manifest differently across settings. Some of my biggest strengths lie in my ability to see a child as a whole with multiple facets of functioning (social, emotional, behavioral, cognitive, neurological) that interact together. As an evaluator, I am comprehensive in how I assess and analyze the results, looking for patterns across measures in order to determine the true origin of your child/adolescent's challenges.
