If you have experienced trauma, you may find it very difficult to trust new people. And many people who have trauma may also have fears about feeling judged, or rejected. It can even feel hard to trust your own mind. I'll work to create an emotionally safe place for you to tackle the things you feel are getting in the way of being able to live a fulfilling life, and to get the help that you need. Helping people to get better is a big part of my life. I want everyone who sits across from me to feel accepted, included and unjudged. I try my best to approach life with empathy and humor. And I hope I bring that into every therapy session.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I have a lot of experience working with individuals to build their skills so that they can learn to better manage depression, guilt, and trauma. I use the best trauma methods, and I'll teach you coping skills to help you to get relief from what you’ve been feeling and thinking. And I look forward to helping you to recover, as well.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

1. For trauma, I use Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), and STAIR. 2. I use Trauma Informed Guilt Reduction (TRiGR) to reduce symptoms of guilt and moral injury. 3. Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy is my go-to for depression. 4. MBSR for stress. And I have other skills for codependency, racial trauma, and anger management.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I'm very good at helping to work through trauma. I've also been meditating for 25 years and teaching MBCT for 10 years. So, I can help you to learn effective ways to use mindfulness to improve your experience. And I'm also very good at helping you to work through things that happened in your family of origin, so that you can move forward.
