Jon Kendrick
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Georgia and I enjoy helping clients learn to cope better with stress, anxiety and depression. I intentionally work with a small number of clients and can focus on helping a smaller number of people each week. I have been a practicing LCSW for over 20 years Having experienced anxiety and depression earlier in my life, I bring a compassionate and authentic approach to counseling.
First session
In our first session, we will discuss the challenges in your life so I can deeply understand what you have been experiencing. I also want to understand your needs and personal goals. This will allow us to develop a plan to help you address the difficulties you are facing. We will also learn approaches that can lessen the experiences of anxiety and depression.
Strengths
I understand that life can be hard sometimes and I do my best to help my clients find ways to improve their lives in ways that fit with their values and goals. I have studied methods that I have found very effective in meeting life's challenges including TEAM CBT and also other trauma-informed approaches. I have tested these approaches myself as I faced medical challenges and losses in my own life. I would love to meet with you and discuss your goals and challenges. If you are ready to begin working on improving your life and improving the way that you feel, please call to schedule your first session. I look forward to hearing from you.
Ideal clients
I enjoy working with people who have a desire to improve their lives and begin to free themselves from the weight of anxiety, depression and stress. Sometimes these experiences have been life long problems and at other times they may be a reaction to new challenges that can push us beyond what we are prepared for. There are effective approaches in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) that can help us change the way we experience life by changing our patterns of thoughts and actions. These approaches can help us reduce depression and anxiety.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in helping individuals manage and overcome anxiety and depression using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I work collaboratively with clients to explore the patterns of thinking, feeling, and behavior that may be contributing to emotional distress. CBT is a structured, evidence-based approach that focuses on how our thoughts influence our emotions and behaviors. It’s not only what happens to us, but how we interpret those events that affects how we feel. Together, we’ll identify the beliefs and habits that may be keeping you stuck, and develop more effective ways of responding to life’s challenges. My goal is to help you better understand yourself and build skills that support your growth, healing, and well-being. Through our work, you can begin to live in a way that aligns more fully with your values and goals — with greater clarity, confidence, and emotional resilience.
