Hello, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I graduated with a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Webster University located in Fort Bliss, Texas. I consider it a great honor when others come to me with their challenges in life. I enjoy what I do immensely. It is because of this; I continually pursue workshops and training to further my skills and knowledge. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Re-Processing Technique, Sand-Tray Therapy, Play Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and of course my favorite Hypnotherapy. I have provided therapy to individuals of all backgrounds and occupations. Having worked as a Program Manager for the Crisis Intervention Team within the Police Department, I am very familiar with providing therapeutic assistance to our first responders, (police officers, security guards, physicians, nurses, medical personnel, paramedics, firefighters, transportation, and delivery personnel) and those who are suffering from severe stress, anxiety, depression, and trauma. I recently completed my MBA in Healthcare. This gave me an opportunity to experience first-hand the stressors that come along with pursuing a college education. The stress of homework and the school-life-work balance.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Negative thoughts and beliefs may be the underlying source of our discomfort and disconnection with the world around us. Oftentimes, we don’t recognize these patterns in ourselves, yet we wonder why we are unable to connect with others on a deeper level. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a tool that helps the client gain insight into their thoughts and take action to change these thought patterns to promote a better quality of life. It is predominantly utilized with individuals who are experiencing depressed mood, anxiety, grief, survivors guilt, and any other limiting belief that keeps an individual in a perpetual state of immobilization, unable to move forward and enjoy life.

EMDR

EMDR is utilized to help those individuals who have experienced trauma in their lives. It works by going into memories to generate present specific adaptation processes for resilience. It doesn’t erase your past memories however it can make them less intrusive so that they are not overwhelming or consuming your present-day focus.

Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is a useful tool of healing and allowing positive change to take effect. Methods such as mental imagery, hypnotic suggestion, and unconscious exploration can bring about both physiological and psychological change in an individual assisting them to reach their treatment goals.
