New to Grow
Hello, I’m Shimeka Arnold, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and founder of Lovely Day Family Therapy. I believe healing begins in a space where people feel truly seen, heard, and accepted without judgment. If you’re looking for a therapist who is warm, authentic, and compassionate, you may find that we work well together. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, adults, and families from diverse backgrounds and identities. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, stress or simply feeling overwhelmed, my goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your experiences and discover you strengths. My approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and tailored to your unique needs. I believe that meaningful change happens when people feel empowered, connected, and supported. Together, we’ll work to build healthier patterns, increase self-understanding, and develop practical tools that help you move toward greater balance and emotional well-being . Clients often appreciate my genuine, nonjudgmental style and my ability to create a space where they can be themselves. My hope is that you leave each session feeling supported, encouraged, and reminded that you don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone. It would be an honor to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing and growth.
Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, and it’s completely normal to feel nervous or unsure about what to expect. Come as you are- we’ll explore your concerns together. During our first session, we’ll spend time getting to know each other and discussing what brings you to therapy. I’ll review important information, including confidentiality and its’ limits, and answer any questions you may have so that you feel informed and comfortable. You don’t need to have everything figured out or know exactly where to begin. My goal is to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can share at your own pace. Together, we’ll explore your concerns, discuss what you hope to gain from therapy, and begin identifying goals that feel meaningful to you. The first session is less about having all the answers and more about building a foundation of trust and collaboration. Expect compassion, collaboration, and support as we begin together. My hope is that you leave feeling heard, supported, and hopeful, about the journey ahead.
One of the greatest strengths I bring to therapy is my ability to create a warm, authentic, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to be themselves. I believe healing begins when people feel truly seen, heard and accepted. My approach is collaborative and strengths-based, and I strive to meet each person where they are with compassion, curiosity, and respect. I do not view people as broken. Instead, I believe that everyone has strengths, resilience, and the capacity for growth, even during life’s most difficult seasons. Together, we explore new perspectives, develop practical tools, and build on the strengths you already possess. Clients often appreciate my genuine nature, calming presence, and ability to foster trust and connection. I value creating a therapeutic relationship where people feel supported, empowered, and encouraged to move toward meaningful change. My hope is that each person leaves our sessions feeling less alone, more hopeful, and better equipped to navigate life’s challenges. What sets my approach apart is my belief that healing is not about fixing who are, but about reconnecting with your strengths, discovering new possibilities and creating a life that feels more aligned with who you want to be.
I work well with children, adolescents, adults, and families who are looking for a warm, supportive, and authentic therapeutic relationship.
