New to Grow
Hi, I’m Megan, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 10 years of experience in behavioral health and psychotherapy. I strive to create a supportive, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where clients can feel safe exploring life’s challenges, emotions, relationships, and personal growth. My approach to therapy is collaborative, open-minded, and grounded in evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, REBT, Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-informed care. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, trauma-related concerns, life transitions, self-esteem challenges, and substance use concerns. I value authenticity, inclusivity, and meeting clients where they are in their healing journey.
During our first session, we will spend time getting to know one another and discussing what brings you to therapy, your current concerns, and the goals you hope to work toward. I understand that starting therapy can feel vulnerable or overwhelming, so I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental, and comfortable environment where you can share at your own pace. We may explore aspects of your personal history, emotional experiences, coping patterns, relationships, stressors, and strengths to help develop a better understanding of your needs. I will also answer any questions you may have about the therapy process and collaborate with you to begin identifying goals and treatment approaches that feel meaningful and supportive for you. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to each individual’s unique experiences and comfort level.

I work collaboratively with clients to help them better understand patterns that may be contributing to emotional distress while developing practical coping skills and healthier ways of navigating challenges. Clients often appreciate my open-mindedness, empathy, and ability to balance emotional support with practical tools and goal-oriented strategies. I value inclusivity and strive to provide affirming care for individuals from diverse backgrounds, including BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities.

I identify as
Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy
I utilize Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, beliefs, and emotional responses that may contribute to distress or interfere with daily functioning. My approach focuses on helping clients develop greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, and healthier coping strategies through examining the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. In my practice, I incorporate REBT techniques to support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, life transitions, and interpersonal difficulties. I work collaboratively with clients to identify irrational or self-defeating beliefs, reframe thinking patterns, and build more balanced and constructive perspectives. My approach is supportive, goal-oriented, and tailored to each client’s individual needs and experiences.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. CBT is an evidence-based approach that focuses on identifying unhelpful thinking patterns and developing healthier coping strategies that support emotional well-being and positive behavioral change. In my practice, I utilize CBT techniques to support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, trauma-related symptoms, life transitions, and difficulties with self-esteem or relationships. I work collaboratively with clients to identify negative thought patterns, build insight, strengthen coping skills, and develop practical tools that can be applied in daily life. My approach is supportive, goal-oriented, and tailored to each client’s individual needs and treatment goals.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques to help clients develop skills in emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. DBT is especially helpful for individuals who experience intense emotions, difficulty managing stress, relationship challenges, or patterns of impulsive or self-defeating behaviors. In my practice, I incorporate DBT-informed interventions to support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, mood instability, and challenges related to coping and emotional regulation. I help clients build practical skills to navigate difficult emotions, improve communication, increase self-awareness, and respond to stress in healthier and more effective ways. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and focused on helping clients create meaningful and sustainable change in their lives.
Motivational Interviewing
I utilize Motivational Interviewing (MI) to help clients explore ambivalence, strengthen motivation for change, and build confidence in their ability to reach personal goals. This collaborative and client-centered approach supports individuals in identifying their own values, strengths, and reasons for change in a supportive and nonjudgmental environment. In my practice, I incorporate Motivational Interviewing techniques when working with clients experiencing life transitions, anxiety, depression, stress, behavioral challenges, and substance use concerns. I help clients increase insight, develop self-efficacy, and move toward meaningful change at a pace that feels realistic and empowering for them. My approach emphasizes empathy, active listening, collaboration, and respect for each client’s unique experiences and readiness for change.
Trauma Informed Care
I provide trauma-informed care by creating a safe, supportive, and collaborative therapeutic environment that recognizes the impact trauma can have on emotional well-being, relationships, coping, and overall functioning. My approach emphasizes trust, empathy, empowerment, and respect for each client’s individual experiences and pace of healing. In my practice, I work with clients who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, trauma-related symptoms, life transitions, or difficulties related to past experiences and emotional distress. I integrate trauma-informed principles throughout treatment by helping clients build emotional regulation skills, increase self-awareness, strengthen coping strategies, and develop a greater sense of safety and stability. My goal is to support clients in processing challenges without re-traumatization while fostering resilience, growth, and meaningful change.
