Sometimes you just can't. You have been trying so hard for so long but you feel like a failure. You just don't adult like other people. This can show up looking like Anxiety, Depression or even stuff like OCD or Social Anxiety symptoms. Often this pain relates to trauma. It could be a history of very serious abuse with PTSD or just painful life experiences you assumed were not such a big deal. This is where I can help. I love to use my skills to help people who are wrestling with emotional pain and daily life struggles. I want you to see yourself and the world in a new way. To stop experiencing days that feel like a dumpster fire. To feel hopeful about your life. To feel safe.To accept your imperfections and like yourself anyhow. When we work together it probably won't be like other therapy you have tried. We will work on your timeline. We will also focus on what matters. I am trained in therapies that address your thinking and your emotions. I use several forms of Cognitive therapy, EMDR, and Ericksonian (non-directive) Hypnosis.
In our first session I want to find out what kind of help you are looking for in our work. If you are not sure, that is okay too.We will figure it out together. I will share about the basics of therapy. We will talk about your life and begin to develop the story of where you came from and where you want to go. We will go at your pace and you can share as much or as little as you would prefer.
EMDR is a wonderful therapy that often begins to create change right away. It is a gentle way to help resolve painful memories. It is used for PTSD, Anxiety disorders and Depression. The focus and two-sided movement begin to rewire brain connections to create symptom relief and personal growth. Sometimes there needs to be work on thoughts and day-to-day behavior patterns. That is where CBTplays a big role. Hypnotherapy is gentle and created with you for your needs. When we get in touch with our creative unconscious mind we develop more self-trust and the understanding that you had answers within all along.
Helping people who have not found relief despite previous efforts is a joy for me. I have years of experience with all kinds of mental health struggles. I am not intimidated by complicated situations. I am a regular person who has grown through her own struggles. I am not very formal. I will tell you what I think and I hope for the same from you.
