Hilda Awuah-Antwi
My name is Hilda Awuah Antwi, and I have worked in the mental health field for over 10 years. I specialize in substance use disorders as well as supporting clients with a wide range of mental health needs. My approach is compassionate and collaborative.
I draw on my experience in substance use and overall mental health to tailor care to each individual, combining practical strategies with encouragement and accountability.
I believe in meeting people where they are and walking alongside them as they work toward healing and growth. I am passionate about helping clients build resilience, find balance, and create meaningful change in their lives.
First session
In our first session, my focus is on getting to know you and understanding what brings you to seek support. We’ll talk about your goals, current challenges, and what you hope to gain from working on your mental health. I’ll also ask some background questions to get a clearer picture of your experiences, but you’ll always set the pace and share what feels comfortable. By the end of the session, we’ll begin shaping a plan together to support your well-being and growth.
Strengths
One of my greatest strengths is creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel truly heard and supported. I take a compassionate, down-to-earth approach, meeting each person where they are while helping them move toward their goals. I draw on my experience in substance use and overall mental health to tailor care to each individual, combining practical strategies with encouragement and accountability. Clients often share that they feel more empowered, hopeful, and equipped to manage life’s challenges after working with me.
Ideal clients
My ideal clients are individuals who may be feeling overwhelmed by life’s challenges but are motivated to find healthier ways of coping. I work best with people struggling with substance use, anxiety, depression, trauma, and many more, who are ready to take steps big or small toward healing. I also support clients who want to better understand themselves, improve relationships, and build confidence. Whether your goal is to achieve sobriety, manage stress, or simply feel more balanced and hopeful, I am here to walk alongside you in that journey.
Treatment methods
Supportive
I find supportive therapy to be a valuable approach in building trust and creating a safe space for patients. I use it to help individuals feel heard and validated while reinforcing their strengths and coping skills. In my practice, I often integrate supportive techniques alongside medication management to reduce stress, improve engagement, and encourage healthy daily functioning.
