I am a proud Licensed Clinical Social worker with over 8 years in the social work field. I have backgrounds in adolescent (teens) and young adult and adult mental health in outpatient settings. I also have experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Autism and I/DD, ADHD and ADD, and problem sexual behavior concerns.
Our first session will be a little more structured as I take a peak into your brain and gather information about your history and goals for therapy. You can ask all of the questions about therapy jargon and acronyms for therapy models. It can be overwhelming!
I am laid-back and love to incorporate your interests into therapy! Your hobbies and interests make you who you are and I care about that.
I work with kids and adults who feel stuck, unsure where to start, but eager to stop living a life that feels out of control with anxiety and depression.
With CBT, we'll work together to explore how your thoughts influence your feelings and behaviors. If you're feeling anxious or stuck, we’ll explore what thoughts are coming up in those moments and learn how to challenge and shift them. We'll also try out new behaviors that can help you feel more in control. It’s a very hands-on approach, and I’ll often give you small exercises to practice between sessions so we can build on what we’re working on together.
ERP, or Exposure and Response Prevention, is an evidence-based therapy modality that helps you face your fears without doing the usual behaviors or rituals that temporarily relieve your anxiety. Over time, this teaches your brain that you can handle the anxiety and that the feared outcomes aren’t as dangerous as they feel. It’s done gradually and with support, so you stay in control as you build confidence and reduce the fear.
Trauma-Focused CBT, or TF-CBT, is a type evidenced-based therapy for children, teens, and sometimes adults who’ve been through something really difficult or traumatic. It helps you understand how the trauma has affected your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors—and gives you tools to feel more in control, safe, and supported. We’ll work together to process what happened at your own pace, learn ways to manage tough emotions like anxiety or anger, and build on your strengths. The goal is to help you heal, feel more empowered, and move forward with your life.
