Hello, I'm Beatriz, I help individuals be less afraid to confront their emotions through mindfulness. It's important to recognize the reality that's in front of us with grace and judgement free. We also deserve to live our daily lives as best possible. I do collaborative work with my clients. We will create a treatment plan and good that best meets your needs. I am certified in DBT, which has taught me how to use different modalities to treat individuals going through Anxiety and Depression. I have also worked with individuals with ADHD, Tics, and Epileptic Seizures. I want clients to feel powerful enough to manage their impulsivity, fears, isolation, indecisiveness, or avoidance. So that they can cope with the difficulties of life such as parenting, breakups, or even loss. Also communicate their needs and have healthier relationships. Being Hispanic, I knew what it was like to live based on cultural expectations. Culture at times has taught us to invalidate our emotions. Also gave us this false belief that we will feel enough once we meet specific expectations. We don't necessarily have to ignore our entire culture, but we can mold it to match our current values, which may look different from the our parent's values. Take owner ship of your emotions now and create healthy boundaries. What's important to know, is that those that love you will always respect your journey.
We may dive into some difficult topics during our first session, but we will work on them through out treatment. We will discuss what therapy will look like in future sessions. We will also develop goals you would like to accomplish within the next 3-6 months. As we are getting to know each other, we will develop a person-centered plan for us to work on in following sessions. Bring notebook because I am very big on journaling your journey.
I want people to take pride in the hard work they put into therapy. Because it is not easy. I enjoy seeing the good in people. I find power in approaching others with empathy. I also try to find strength even in the messiest and most vulnerable of times.
I love working with individuals ready to start facing some hard truths. I like supporting them through the journey, but I also like for them to put in the work. My clients are eager to make change but don't have the tools needed to make their goals reality. They willing to correct me if they do not feel I understood them right, and are willing to accept challenges as well. I also really like working with people of color and Latinos. I understand culture can have a big impact on how we live our lives and as scary as it may be, it's time to set boundaries and start embracing bravery outside of our familial traditions.

I chose Beatriz because we seemed to share similar backgrounds and because her profile suggested the possibility of goal-oriented approaches with tangible tasks. She has offered that and then some. She is very warm and empathetic, which pairs well with how she helps me push my boundaries and grow every session. I feel welcomed and validated but also challenged and sometimes uncomfortable (in a good "growing pains" kind of way), which is exactly what I was searching for in therapy.
