I am Nashonne. Over the past, 13 years, I've been offering therapy services in the state of Pennsylvania. Through my experiences, I've built an eclectic style of counseling that involves providing a secure space for the client to allow themselves to be vulnerable, address their issues at their core and grow. Some of the spaces where I have worked include community mental health, private practice, homeless shelters and the Department of Corrections. In my time outside of the office, I like to travel with family and explore new foods and venues.
Our first session will be an intake where we will be able to begin to build a rapport and get to know each other. I will ask questions about what brings you to therapy, your history, and anything that you would like for me to know about working with you. One of my goals for the first session is to explain to you my approach to therapy and how you can expect to move forward. This is an opportunity to decide if we are a good fit.
Some of the areas that I enjoy working in with clients include but are not limited to unresolved trauma, childhood abuse and attachment wounds, anxiety, depression, life transitions and women's issues.
I have been practicing DBT since training as a member of the Delaware County DBT Team from 2019-2021. After completing my training I chose to make DBT a core part of my private practice. I am trained in using DBT with adolescents, families, and adults.
I have been practicing EMDR since 2017. It is a large part of my practice and works well for clients who are looking to reprocess and heal from a history of complex trauma or even single incident trauma.
I have extensive experience in practicing motivational interviewing. In the past I have used motivational interviewing in clients with dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorders. Motivational interviewing is very helpful in building a safe therapeutic relationship as well.
I practice psycho education because it is a very important part of the therapeutic process to educate the client on the body, brain, and nervous system and how they are affected by adverse childhood events, trauma, mental illness, toxicity and substances, etc.
When working with me you will receive trauma informed care. In 2017 I became a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional meaning that I have been trained to approach treatment through a trauma focused lens.
