About me

Hi, I'm Kendal. I understand what it's like to feel overwhelmed by life's transitions, to struggle with self-doubt, or to feel like you're holding yourself back. I help people work through anxiety, burnout, trauma, and chronic stress using a mix of creativity, grounding, and honest conversation. My approach is holistic, down-to-earth, and yes—sometimes funny. Because sometimes, laughing at our pain (even just a little) can be part of what helps us heal. You don’t need to be an artist to benefit from art therapy—just open to exploring what comes up. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, supported, and more connected to yourself. As someone who believes healing happens through authentic connection and creative expression, I've dedicated my practice to creating a space where you can explore your inner world without judgment. I'm trained in both art therapy and EMDR because I believe some wounds need more than words to heal. My approach honors your whole self—mind, body, and spirit—and meets you exactly where you are in your journey.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

You can expect to meet with me for about 50 to 55 minutes in the first session. During this time, I’ll complete a biopsychosocial assessment, which means I’ll ask questions to better understand your history, what brought you to therapy, and what you’re hoping to accomplish. This helps us clarify your goals and begin creating a plan tailored to your needs.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What stands out about my approach is my ability to bring in levity and a sense of humor when it feels appropriate, helping clients feel more comfortable and connected. I strive to really see and pay attention to the whole person sitting in front of me—not just in clinical terms or through a diagnosis. I show up human to human, meeting you where you are, and my role is to assist you in helping yourself. My ultimate goal is that you leave therapy feeling empowered to move through life with greater confidence and the ability to accomplish things interdependently, not just independently.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

This is actually a challenging question for me to answer because I feel I have many different types of ideal clients. If I had to put it into words, I would simply say my ideal client is someone who is ready to show up, willing to engage, and open to trusting the process. No matter where you’re starting from, I’ll meet you where you’re at—as long as you’re committed to sticking with the process and the journey we call therapy.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on identifying and changing unhelpful thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, which I integrate into art therapy by using creative activities to help clients visualize thought patterns, practice coping skills, and reframe perspectives.

Compassion Focused

Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) emphasizes developing self-compassion and reducing self-criticism, which I integrate into art therapy by guiding clients through creative practices that foster kindness toward themselves and strengthen compassionate inner dialogue.

EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a trauma-focused therapy that helps clients process distressing memories, which can also be integrated into art therapy by combining bilateral stimulation with creative expression to support healing and emotional regulation. Note: Not all who are interested in EMDR have to be interested in Art Therapy.

Positive Psychology

Positive psychology focuses on building strengths, resilience, and well-being, which can be integrated into art therapy by using creative activities that highlight personal strengths, foster gratitude, and encourage positive emotions.

Psychoeducation

Psychoeducation is the process of providing clients and families with information about mental health and coping strategies, which I integrate into art therapy by teaching concepts through creative activities and discussions that support understanding and growth.
