Hi, I'm Alex, and I'm really glad you're here. I primarily work with young adults and transition-aged adults, helping them navigate anxiety, perfectionism, relationships, and the ways past experiences can shape identity. In a world that can often feel rushed, critical, or overwhelming, therapy can be a place to slow down and feel genuinely cared for. I strive to create a space that feels safe, respectful, and deeply human - one where you don’t have to perform, explain yourself away, or hold it all together. I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor based in California with over seven years of experience. I bring warmth, presence, and genuine care into my work, and I believe therapy is most effective when clients feel deeply supported and accepted. I see therapy as a collaborative process where we build on your existing strengths and work toward meaningful, sustainable change.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
The first session is a chance for us to get to know one another and begin understanding what’s bringing you to therapy. We’ll move at a pace that feels right for you, and you’re always in control of what you choose to share. There’s no expectation to have everything figured out or to tell your whole story all at once. Together, we’ll start laying a foundation for work that feels supportive, empowering, and meaningful for where you are in your life.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
One of my greatest strengths is my ability to read the room and meet clients where they are - emotionally, relationally, and in their readiness for change. I pay close attention not just to what clients say, but to what may be happening underneath, and I use that understanding to guide our work together. I value building an honest, collaborative relationship and believe growth happens when clients feel both supported and thoughtfully challenged. I am warm and compassionate, while also being kind and direct - offering feedback, alternative perspectives, and encouragement when it can help clients move forward in ways that feel empowering and true to themselves.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work especially well with young adults and transition-aged adults whose challenges — including anxiety, perfectionism, or difficulties in relationships — are connected to past experiences, family dynamics, or attachment patterns. Many clients come seeking a deeper understanding of how these early experiences influence the way they relate to themselves and others today. I take a relational, trauma-informed approach, supporting clients in exploring and healing attachment wounds, processing difficult experiences, and discovering new ways of connecting with themselves and the people in their lives. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can better understand your story, build self-trust, and develop relationships that feel more authentic and fulfilling.
EMDR
I’m trained in the Somatic and Attachment Focused EMDR (SAFE) model, which helps you process past experiences in a safe, supportive way. I use it alongside a relational, trauma-informed approach to help you feel more grounded, build self-trust, and relate to yourself and others in healthier ways.
Mind-body approach
Our minds and bodies are closely connected, and your body often knows how you’re feeling even before you do! In our work together, we’ll use tools to help you tune into those signals—like tension, stress, or emotions—and make sense of what they’re telling you. The goal is to help you respond with more awareness and kindness toward yourself, so you can feel more balanced and grounded.
Narrative
I utilize Narrative Therapy to look at the stories you’ve come to believe about yourself—where they came from, how they’ve shaped your life, and whether they still fit. Sometimes these stories are based on old experiences that hold you back. Together, we’ll explore and rethink those narratives so you can create new ones that reflect who you really are and who you’re becoming.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as an evidence-based approach to help challenge and reframe some of our unhelpful thoughts.
